Let me just start by saying I have had an ongoing project for years but as a daily car it doesn't get mad mods like some of you. I am going to start this thread off from where I've started this year, copied from Civiclife.

Been a while

Car was neglected

Some parts to fit

Some parts to remove

Interior needs cleaning from neglect

Body will be seen to in due time

Full service very soon

Insurance expired so sat on my drive to be worked on.

I've started to revive her ...

The seat is almost dry so I plan to pull the other out tomorrow which is in worse condition, will probably get more videos back up on the YouTube and document the build a little, who knows.

So so here's before the clean started, general grime and mould from the neglect under a tree for 2 months lol. Disgusting.

This is after a rinse down with a hose and wiped down with an old microfibre cloth I had lying around.

After that I got a bucket put a random mixture of woolite and warm water together ( had no spray bottle to hand ) , soaked it in the microfibre cloth and continued to rub it into the seat. I then got another small bucket with another random mixture, poured it over the seat and then massaged it into the seat with my hands until it got all soapy. Do not do this in the freezing cold with strong wind, it was a bastard.

I then got the jet wash out and used it to blast the woolite and grime out the seat.

It took a while to get most of it out, I say most because it was still coming off when I decided to stop because it was getting too cold.

And about 2 days of sat by the radiator that stays on twice a day for about 2 hours it's pretty much dry. The camera quality at this point is terrible I must admit but I will get better pictures as soon as both are ready to go back in the car. In person, the transformation is night and day, smells better too, if I can get the shitbox accord to start tomorrow to get it off the drive I will continue to clean this civics interior and do the second seat, a how to will more than likely be uploaded by the end of next week for those who'd rather watch what I did.

oh and because I had a shifter laying about, K tuned copy which is of very good quality, thought I'd put this in at a later date, when I source some solid bushes, will probably buy some dimes since Liam likes his. This shifter will replace that awful tegiwa one, it may not be awful it maybe the bushes but I don't like it because it rusted while the car sat for 2 months lol, steel for you I guess .

link to my Instagram because I haven't got it saved on here.

practically the same as the K tuned B/D shifter.

Started cleaning. Haha.

I did a buy.

go faster part ? Baller part ? I dunno I just like the look of these , prefer the victor but they're made for high end power or boost, these are suited for n/a and mid range.

This is what I did today.

Hoovered up the carpet.

Pulled down the lower dash to remove the turbo timer because I'm sick of the annoying beep although ideal for warming the car up and cooling it down, I'd rather wait around. So to my horror, a bunch of bodged wiring from an aftermarket alarm it had fitted, every part of the loom was spliced into so I've started stripping it back and pulling out the alarm wiring. I think I'm on the last part which is spliced behind the lower door plastic, I lost patience with it so will carry on tomorrow.

Both seats are dry and ready to go back I'm as soon as I've sorted most of the interior, they've came out very good, all that's left is the inevitable wear marks due to age but I'm pleased with them.

Going to buy new door cards, just looking for some that aren't cracked on the arm rests , then I will use that iron man material to retrim the arm rests.

Got a lot of work to do so I will try my best to keep everything up-to date and I will do a video build too, just finished recording how to clean the recaros by an idiot, I.e me.

So, finished pulling the rest of the alarm out. No idea why it went as far back I to the back if the car.

Turbo timer is out, need a new ignition loom just to get rid of this one which is all cut open and solder everywhere from stuff being connected to it.

Tomorrow I think I'll test fit the X brace as I'm not sure if it will fit with the pillar braces. Also may pull the door cards off and make a start on wiring in the cross overs and removing the spoon rep mirrors back to oem.

So, today was a nice day so thought why not fit the X brace will only take about an hour then I crack on with removing other parts.

That wasn't the case .

First off went okay, fitted it then for some reason the side pillar bars wouldn't fit which left me with this

so So off came everything , go the pillar bars back up connected then could not for the life of me get the X brace to fit . So started taking a bar off at a time, then forgot how everything was , now it's all separated and ready to go back together tomorrow, I hope.

was going to have all the brace done gold, but with how difficult it is to fit this I'm having second thoughts and may just leave it until it gets caged, if it gets caged, then the cage can go gold.

I reckon it's not a good fit because it's a Tegiwa

If it was a Godspeed or Miracle it would be a better fit IRC.

PAIN IN THE ASS

especially with the wrong bolts given, I've been given LCA bolts and hundreds of washers to act like spacers , lol I guess.

It's all attached now with my B/C pillar bars , just needs everything fully tightened.

Going to have one stiff rear end so I will be adjusting the damping to suit as soon as its road ready, already over steers slightly now and again without the X brace so this will only favour in oversteer, yew people, FWD can oversteer.

Oh and since I'm cleaning, bought two air freshners, 55p each.

Smell good for cheap air freshners.

Good build dude , the brace is looking good now ,
Keep it up pal.
Updates on this would be cool , like where it's going

Thanks , I'll update accordingly , have a lot to do and loads of future plans but time and money is the only downside.

Haha as long as you get the job done lol:angry2: its all good .

**** iPad picture because I left my phone upstairs and the GoPro died at this point.

The throttle body is off to go onto the Edelbrock .

I've had an issue with sticking throttle after full throttle and sometimes just sat in traffic which isn't the best, got used to it by constantly tapping the throttle but then I get weird looks and have people assume I want to race haha.

Anyways, I pulled the plate out, cleaned it out as there's a lot of carbon build up around the plate, got as much as I can off with rag, wd40 and a polishing attachment for the fake dremel. Was fine but realised someone has set the idle screw so far out air will get through so played around with it which resulted in me needing to pull the plate out again for some reason.

Adjusted fully closed, stuck the plate back in and it would get stuck again, but now I had more room to play with the idle screw so adjusted a turn at a time until it would close without getting stuck without having a gap, little bit of fiddling and it was sorted.

It is now ready to go on the Edelbrock.

Iideally I wanted to do this ( see link below ) but I didn't feel confident enough messing with the spring mechanism.

Didn't do much today because it's too cold, didn't pull the old inlet off yet because I need new injector seals for when I mount everything to the edelbrock. I did mount the throttle body up and clean out the pcv valve.

Picture of the mess I pulled out the other day ...

BUT

facelift and pre facelift EK speedo components aren't compatible with one another.

Took an hour to mix and match to get one speedo put together and hopefully I have a working speedo now or I give up and will custom fit a digital aem gauge fitted in place of the temperamental temperature gauge.

why I'm mixing speedos if you don't know

I initially had my original one apart to change the bulbs, then I sanded the backs down to get the lights brighter, it worked however for some reason after sanding the backs the temperature gauge kept reading max temp as soon as the engine would warm up. Wouldn't work again so swapped it out for another set of clocks, now this is weird and I have no idea how this happened, but one day I hit vtec and the dam temperature needle flew off as if it wasn't on properly and I lost the needle so now I'm where I'm at today with my second set of clocks mixing and matching.

The rev counter is able to transfer between one another, the speed one does not and the fuel and temp part doesn't either unless you do what I did and feed the screws in a turn at a time, similar to what you'd do with wheel nuts, engine bolts etc, took me an hour to do that part because it isn't suppose to line up.

anyways that's that job done , I also tested the location to wire in the gauges , going to wire into the head unit loom instead of my ignition, it's a lot neater, just had to buy another ignition loom because of all the nasty splicing that's happened under there.

if you read this you get 1000 ***** points as Salomondrin would say.

After a few issues with the robbing **** government and their import tax and VAT , I've finally got mine and Tyrones catch cans into the country.

A little overkill kill for my setup but I like the look of them, I'm only relieving the pressure that builds up in the rocker cover so going to blank off the two extra ports as I cba getting rid of the whole pcv system, no idea if it's beneficial to remove it anyways, not looked into it.

pics I sent Tyrone

Oh man ! Rather you than me lol .
Your making progress and that's what matters!
Keep it up .

Some of you will know I used to vlog a little, some of you liked it , some of you not. Well I deleted all the ones with my face in there and have now started up again but this time round in POV haha. Sometimes I may get in the camera but I'd like not to , anyways here's the introduction to the build if you'd like to call it that, hence the title.

What I've already documented in this build will be in a video format hopefully by Monday, I think I have enough content for 3 videos or so, nothing is ever planned by the way so it could get a little confusing but I have no real experience in the line of videography.

Just some pics of how my seats were before washing. Just uploading the video of cleaning them and how I cleaned them.

Dude don't take this the wrong way, I'm sure your a great bloke, but like your intro video I turned off after one minute, you seem to be rambling on about crap ,
And this video said how to clean seats , but at the start your rambling on about bolt holes , and corny music ,
You lost me after 30 seconds .sorry .
Probably best to find good vlogs on YouTube and try and learn from them and pick up on there editing SKILLS.

None taken, I was just letting those know how to take the seats out if they didn't know

That's good then , I will keep my eye out for your next video. All the best pal

Part2

Still getting through the old footage.

Looking at ways to improve my content for the videos after episode 3/4 , just getting rid of old content.

Did an order with Jap Service Parts for some track rod ends, inners and outers and some other bits.
Speedo needs calibrating after doing the swap as its been knocked out, possibly from removing the needle and also still continuing with the interior atm bit by bit.

Got a leak on both doors, water seems to drip down where the mechanism and window sit so I'd assume I've got bad seals, weather sheet is holding moisture in which has developed what looks like mould so I'll just rip it off. If anyone knows where I can get replacement seals from I'd appreciate it.

Ordering injector seals too so I can get my other intake on, don't want to put it on now and have to take apart the fuel rail again just to swap the seals, rather do it while it's off in front of me.

Sorry for no pictures, not taken any.

Inner and outer track rod ends
Sump gasket
Vtec solenoid gasket

Inner and outer track rod ends, should solve my wheel wobble at speed and will be nice to have fresh alignment parts along side my new hardrace products. I'll eventually go for a proper alignment, handles okay for now but it's never had a proper alignment done so looking forward to what it'll feel like afterwards.
