My Ek9 track car build up

Painted it on Saturday and started to cavity wax it this eve,

Mine started to look like that after about a year in the shed, had horrid dreams about the sponge sucking the red out of my Recaros.

Looking great, keep it up!

Cheers for the positive feedback:nice:

Done a bit more on the car.
Cleaned up the inner wings as there was some very minor surface rust forming where the arch liners had rubbed the paint off.

I'm pretty obsessive about removing even the most minor trace of rust!

All shiney clean metal there now ready for painting, also cleaned off the rest of the old under seal in the arches ready to give them a fresh coat of white.

I've also started removing the abs system, including the abs and a/c loom. Got quite a pile of wires ripped out.

Made a few purchases as well
Non abs prop valve
Dc2 air box
Radio blank to drill and fit gauges in to
And a few other bits

Thats good ocd work there mate. Im scared to strip my car back. Not sure what lurks beneath.... you just grind it back?

I used a wire wheel in a air drill and various grades of sand paper/emery cloth, a bit time consuming but worth it for long term

Coming along quite well. Wish I could get an EK9 stateside. What low seat rails are you using? I've been looking for some for my ek9 recaros, but not sure which ones are compatible.

Not sure what make the rail is, can't see any markings on it, was on the car when imported I believe

Clutch master cylinder had been leaking and made a right mess of the paintwork around the pedals,
Stripped it back today with a wire brush wheel, put some primer on, just need to get some seam sealer next

Mine went this year aswell. Had to strip the paint back and paint over it again.
Obviously getting common now.

Yeah pretty common that they go it seems, had one go on my dc2 many years ago after putting in a uprated clutch, however that went completely so I was aware and able to clean it up before it damaged the paint

Yeah mine was just seeping, the clutch pedal felt funny so I checked it and yep, leaking all into the carpet lol

This one must of just been seeping a tiny bit for a long time, was like it when I got it but it felt quite normal still, luckily they're fairly cheap
