My Ek9 track car build up

am i interested ?? YES !!!! haha, this looks sick man, great to see how far its come, will be a beast for sure :) Great work !

Cheers topher, hopefully get some more spare time to get a bit more built up on it soon and get it back on its wheels

Dusted the car off and cleared all the junk off it, nice to be able to see what it looks like again

Stripped and cleaned the coilovers, they are as good as brand new

And drilled out the radio blank for the SPA oil gauge and a water temp gauge, just need to connect them up now

Really like those SPA gauges, need to have another go at my radio black with a decent hole saw, keep snapping them in the process :(

Been a while since I last updated,
A few bits done.....
Got it back on wheels,

Gave the rear calipers a overhaul, blasted and painted

Gutted out all the heater and fitted the fuse box Behind the glove box, this allows me to minimise the wires in the engine bay

Removed the heater switch panel, and made up a new switch panel out of some carbon fibre sheet, and got some fancy missile switches to go in it

I'm in the process of fitting a in line bilge blower under the dash to clear the screen, it's surprising how much the heater and associated parts weigh!

Incredible work man. This ek9 is absolutlty smashing.Wish I could do the same to mine. Keep it up

What did you use to strip the rear wheel well and primer it do you use a spray gun

I used roloc clean and strip wheels attached to a 45 degree air die grinder to remove the worst bits, wire wheel and a da sander.

Primed it with aerosol iirc, then top coated it with a gun, used 2k direct gloss

Thanks must do it myself. Top work again man

A bit of a parts update
New steering wheel and NRG boss and quick release hub

And a tegiwa strut brace and some new light seals

Also made up some seat rails to fit

I've not updated this in ages, but a few things have happened,
Had the head off, stripped cleaned and lightly skimmed, new stem seals.
Built it all back up, filled with coolant and found a pin hole in the koyo rad.

Decided on replacing it with a mishimoto rad,

Got it running sweet after re arranging the leads in the correct order!

In between doing this I've re sprayed the bumpers, wings, doors, side skirts, mirrors, and trims. The really needed freshening up, just need to do the bonnet and rear quarter panels now.

Purchased a hondata s300 and a p28 ecu which I had socketed and a nice Perspex cover was made for it by @Puggie
I also bought a set of 4 nankang NS2R to try out.

Had some help from my dad to bleed the brakes and clutch over the weekend and tightened all the rear suspension bolts this evening

What are the hardrace parts like, thinking of getting some myself?

Also when you painted the front bumper I noticed you did the lot white first then fine lined the black, what black did you paint it as I'm just about to paint my spare bumper?

Looks like a show car mate! Lovely job you're doing. :nice:

I think the hardrace parts are good, a much better option than poly bushes in my opinion, I do have poly in the front arms and wish I had gone hardrace in them as well,

The main reason I did the bumper that way is because it had been painted previously and the black area had been done white. It was just easier to paint the whole thing again,
If your black part is in good condition I would just mask it off.

Thank you! I'm just a little ocd about re freshing things, it will probably never go to any shows but you never know
