yes fibreglass and gelcoat to make the mould and i use a product called honeywax( its almost like a very thick car wax to stop the mould from sticking ive put a hell of a lot of work into making the panel smooth with bodyfiller. it turns out the oem panels under the numberpate are not...

thanks for all your comments guys hmm been and bought the carbon cloth today .... £32.50+vat per square meter :( but on the plus side thats for decent stuff tho . as it takes a few layers and the cost of the resin and the mould i have made already this is turning out to a pricey project lol ...

All the original tabs will be present once the carbon is applyed so in therory it should just clip and bolt in as the oem part does :) ill see how things shape up with this piece first but if all turns out good then ill still have the mould to make more :) just stay tuned .....

first stage went well :) the mould looks good and was easy to remove from oem part , plus the oem part is in as new condition :) . ive got to let the mould "air" for a week now and then ill start attacking it with large amounts of carbon :win:

yes well spotted . im also using very high quality resins so there should be no/min shrinkange so it fits like an oem part .. the bad bit is they cost 6 times more than the standard resins :( but im a true belive in quality and not quantity
