EK9 Civic Type R 1998 80k
For sale is my immaculate pre facelift EK9 civic type R in Championship white which I got imported in april 2008 (I am the first UK owner) by possibly the most reputable EK9 importer in the uk. FastJapCars.Com :: Dedicated to Japanese cars. I travelled from central Scotland to Redding to collect the car. You can find more info on this company on the EK9 owners club. EK9.org: JDM EK9 Honda Civic Type R Forum. I bought the car totally standard with 65k miles on the clock, it was a grade 4 import (1 being the poorest condition and 5 being the best condition) When the car arrived in the UK fastjapcars carried out a full service, timing belt change and had the speedo and mileage converted from kilometers to miles. At this point I had fastjapcars fit the wheels and uprated spark plug leads. When I got the car home it was fitted with a Toad alarm and immobiliser with remote central locking.
The wheels fitted are Rays Engineering/Volk Racing TE37âs, these wheels are very light and very strong. They are unmarked and in perfect condition, with all stickers intact. They have also just been fitted with four brand new Toyo Proxes T1-Râs at the beginning of February.
The car also has a set on Nology uprated spark plug leads and Tanabe GF210 uprated suspension springs. These springs have lowered the car slighty and are very slightly stiffer than standard (standard springs will come with car). I also have fitted an HKS Super Hybrid panel air filter at the beginning of Feb. It has a Spoon sports radiator cap and radiator stay fitted. The standard exhaust is made from stainless steel, its sounds great and will last. I renewed all the exhaust gaskets also.
Around 2 months after owning the car the clutch was making a noise so a new exedy standard spec clutch kit was fitted.
The interior is totally standard and in great conditon. The side bolsters on the recaroâs are in great condtion with very little wear and no damage at all. The standard MOMO steering is also in great condition. The car came fitted with Razo pedals when it was imported and I have left them on. The standard gear knob has been changed for what I believe to be a Jâs Racing ball type gear knob which was on when the car was imported. The car came fitted with Raybrig front fog lights which were an optional extra from the factory and are quite rare.
The EK9 Civic Type R was the first civic type R to be produced featuring a 1.6ltr DOHC Vtec engine producing 185bhp at 8300rpm and running 0-62mph in a quick 5.7secs. The car was fitted from the factory with a helical limited slip differential, removal of sound deadening and a seam welded chassis making the car handle amazingly. This is arguably the best Civic Type R to be produced! A full spec and reviews can be found on the on the owners club at

This car has been my pride and joy for the last 13 months and hast caused me no problems The car drives like new and feels tight. I will be very sad to see it go but I am planning on travelling at the end of the summer so she has to go. I have maintained the car meticulously changing the oil and filter every 3k - 4k miles. It gets washed once a week and polished regularly. The car spent almost all the winter off the road in my garage, it is in great condition underneath and I wanted to keep it that way. The car has only ever been run on Shell V-Power since arriving in the UK. The car comes with a copy of all import documents. Serious buyers only please and no test pilots.
