300bhp N/A B20

I'm just huge nerd. I wish I worked in the automotive industry!

I'd settle for having enough money to actually build half the **** I think up.

haha. you need to get some of these ideas built then, the photo/video section is waiting :nice:

I have seen pictures and videos of some of the all motor builds from america and I swear i have seen a 300+ bhp B20. ill have to have a look

ok so this is a 311bhp B20

here is the link to the thread Help, 311 WHP B20vtec NA only running high 11 !!! - Honda-Tech

Lol not the most streetable car

Don't believe American WHP figures, their horses are smaller than ours. They claim mildly worked B16s put down 180whp which is obviously complete horse ****.

That B20 is bored and stroked. Insane build though!

Amen - Stroking a B20 with a 95 or even 98mm crank coupled with an 86mm sleeve can make a wild motor - without any calcs that puts the displacement to around 2.2 - 2.3L ? Amazing.

Lazybeans - I am currently running a B20 with 200WHP - 13;1 compression and I use it on a daily basis - 100 mile commute, having to dictate my journeys around shell garages is not ideal, but its doable.

Running on Q16 race fuel however is not and I can imagine is costly.

Was about to say lol. American hp figures always seem to he way up there with the flying unicorn pigs.
Or is us and the manufacture that are way to low? Lol

To be honest I think that build is in the Philippines?

Joe do you just run Vpower then?

And has anybody ever considered water meth?

Yes lazybean on direct instruction from the tuner (hey i don't know any different) i run V-power only.

I have considered water meth to reduce the det/ping/knock but more costs i cba with

That guy claims it makes 366hp at the crank. An 800kg car (w/driver), putting out 366hp would be pulling ~135mph trap speeds. Even one putting out 311hp would be ~127mph, yet all he can manage is ~120s which is more in line with a 250-260hp motor, which is incidentally more in keeping with traditional engine limits for that capacity.

He also claims he has a stock block B18C5 with Spunk2 cams making 261hp.

Jog on chap, there's not a chance in hell those figures are accurate.

I'm sure Endyn built a 300bhp b20, but a dart block was used, correct me if I'm Wrong technically No longer a Honda engine then??

A good idea? It depends what you classify as a good idea? How do you intend to extract 300 horses from a B20 NA - I am keen to know!

Exactly my point on when tuning an engine turns into designing a new one.

Another interesting question for all you guys

At what point do you think hyper cars will start to out perform formula 1 cars? I with the restrictions on formula 1 surely its only a matter of time? Granted there is a phenomenal amount of money in formula 1

It depends on what do you mean by ''out perform'', For example when it comes to top speed that has already happened, I can remember watching a documentary about Veyron where the builders approached one of the F1 teams asking whether they could use their wind tunnel to test the car's aerodynamics and the response they got was along the lines of: Well, you can but we don't actually go over 400 kph so our wind tunnel will be probably of no use to you... Also, the power of the Veyron is higher than F1 cars and so will be the torque. Obviously F1 is still faster than the Veyron which is simply too heavy, but as far as power goes the Veyron wins.

You'll likely never see an 850bhp, 600kg road car, and if you did It would have nowhere near the same levels of downforce, so I'm gonna go with no.

Yes, handling will always be an issue, it is certainly possible to build 850bhp 600kg car, especially when you are not limited by FIA regulations like the F1 teams are but getting the handling to the same level would mean... Well building a road legal F1!

But I mean cars like the pagani huyura (I think that's how it's spelt) + are getting close to those levels. The as technology progresses surely the boundaries are going to get closer and closer. Especially as active aero parts become more and more common in these cars.

Doubt the aerodynamic capability's of road car's, super, hyper or even...... super mega hyper car's in the future will ever reach the same standards of F1 cars. So although they may get more powerfull etc, I would expect any major breakthroughs in power development or handling will already be used and improved upon in the F1 world by the time it makes it to the road (If ever).
