Adjusting IACV?

Finally just fitted my Exedy clutch and Mfactory flywheel, after much hassle!

Due to the lower weight of the MFactory flywheel, the idle is not settling.

How do I adjust the Idle Air Control Valve accordingly?

Cheers,

Josh..

I never came across this before, are you sure you torque'd the flywheel up correctly and made sure the clutch was aligned?

x2

you checked youve not pulled out a vacume pipe while you had the gearbox mount off?

I double checked that all the bolts were torqued correctly.

Where exactly are these vacuum lines located?

When I first start the car it idles smoothly at 1500 rpm as it used to when cold started. Its just when I come to stop the idle seems to fluctuate between 1000-1500 rpm I thought this was common with lightened flywheels?

Try doing a ecu reset and see how it is after that. You can reset ecu by removing negative battery cable for a minute or remove 7.5amp back up fuse located in under bonnet fuse box.

I'll have a go at doing this, but the battery was off over night when changing the clutch from disconnecting the starter motor.

your IACV might be clogged and needs to be cleaned. I am having the same problem. I am about to clean my IACV right now. I will tell you how it goes.

Well, I cleaned out my IACV and you know what, IT WORKED... sort of. My idle no longer fluctuates while stopped. It fluctuates still in neutral, while coasting. When I am parked or stopped at a light, idle is cool.

Update:

Cleaning out my IACV worked... for a while. I am still having idle issues as my car is stalling now because idle is too low :-( now I have to get a new IACV and I will see how that goes.

I'm not to sure of this, but I really don't think that a lighter flywheel will really make the idle bounce around to much! What you should really do is clean out the IACV off the engine and check all your vaccum line. Try a coolant leak down test to make sure your all good. If all is well then you have to do something with your timing and adjust your idle for it to be smooth. Also try a tune-up you can never loss out with that!

HA HA HA! EUREKA! SUCCESS! After 6 months and cleaning out my IACV... TWICE! I've fixed the problem. My IACV was bad. Went over my friends shop today and he gave me a IACV off a B16A2 he had laying around. And what do you know.... my idle problems are fixed. It idles well while in neutral and parked now.
So if anyone reading this remember, if you are having a problem with a fluctuating idle do 2 things.

1. Clean out the IACV real good with brake cleaner.
If that does not solve the problem
2. Replace your IACV.

Enjoy :)
