V2 is the long system intake... bring larger air chamber...:nice:

Aem you get a short ram kit. A cold air intake or induction depends on what side of the water your on and a V2 which is the new larger chamber intake kit. They are all good products. The V2 is more of a pain in the backside to fit to the EK9. You have to change the engine mount. The cold air intake is a good option and is easier to fit. No engine mounts changed on that one. But the bumper has to come off, but thats no biggy.

you sure about that? this is the first im hearing of this, is it becuase it was designed for US market?? if you get the one made for em1 99si it should fit no problem i would think.

i have got an aem v1 on my b16A2 and a love it the sound in the vtec is incredible!
and i feel the car more free
i think it s a good compromise between price and performance

part of me wants one but part of me wants to keep standard airbox as to keep standard look, im stumped i dont even know how to modify the airbox, is there a thread or sticky on how to remove resonator?
is ot a big job and does it make vtec any louder
im so confused what to do
cheers agian guys

To remove the resonatore box you have to take off the front bumper. Then there is a couple bolts holding it in. Once that is removed you do get a lounder noise from the intake but not the same as if you would get from an AEM or other after market intakes. If you take out the resonator box put a K and N or other washable filter in it. As you will notice it gets dirty quicker.

i know there are several threads on what induction to go for but i really am in a dilemma as to what to do as i cant see modifying the airbox making that much of a difference where as i know an aem should free a few horsies and sound the nuts :nice:
but then im worried bout hydrolock as we seem to get a lot of rain in south wales in the uk:mad:

Accessory Zone please respond to my post above.

Blinx, Sorry. the customer had supplied the V2 himself. Turns out if was for an Eg civic so it comes with a replacement mount. Didn't end up fitting it in the end. He got a V1 for it and was very happy.

cool, so as long as you get the correct model there should be no issues installing a aem v2 on a ek9 :nice:

Hi all...

"blinx" me mate ek4 '97 was about to sell me his v2 jst before i odered my mugen intake... however i WAS put off when he told me i had to replace the mount mentioned b4.

however i found difficulty installing my mugen intake which still dying to fit in vry near future, main problem being a/c tubing & VRY tight fit for the lower part of intake :nerv: mount preventing this part to slip gently to its place.

i've had a few inductions kits on my ek4 which includes the v1 and the v2.
Having a intake pipe this long does a little bit more power as you reach to the redline, however, throttle response weakens.
the v1 was better than the v2 imo but quite alot.
these intake pipes maniplates power within the rev range in different gears:
v2: mid range
v1: redline

the v2 does require you to change agearbox mount i believe, so that the pipe is able to fit through to the designated cold air source:)
just bought a mugen intake which i have on heard good things about, however, RVM design looks awesome also!:)
HTH

Good info from direct experience, and good choice with the mugen system!

intresting, im sure if you get the V2 for an em1 civic it should fit your ek4, about the mugen piece, what part of the ac is blocking? where it goes to the firewall?
