There are several. One being a 3% commission for Paypal which the seller has to pay. The other being that their buyer-protection is very weak. If the seller receives the money and transfers it to his real back account and has no credit on the Paypal account then Paypal can't do ****. Been there done that (luckily with a small amount of money).There is no reason why any genuine seller wouldn't use PayPal.
Should report to ebay or at least wind the guy up tell him you're coming to collect in person, he will soon change his tune...
