Amazing EK9 Deals.

The prices do almost seem to good to be true....

I had a peek at the "240BHP" Spoon EK9. Turns out it is a stroked B16B with Spoon ECU & a few bolt-ons....certainly not a 240BHP build:nono:

Small details like erronous power claims would put me off straight away TBH:angry:

I've seen their name a few times on the PH forums and GT-R forum as a reputable and fairly large importer, I've also seen people posting about Mashamoto importing them pristine Skylines with no complaints too.

They're UK registered too so they have to obey by our consumer laws unlike the Japan based import companies.

EK9's arn't worth much now a days in Japan I heard from best motoring so they might of dropped alot.

The one they had before did look hawt. :p

It was sourced from a private sale and it was in mint condition

In which case all the other import companies are keeping shctum

Yes they have dropped a lot but with the weak £ they have virtually doubled in price. So in reality they are still costing about the same :angry2:.
Dunx

just had a look at the online auction, they sell at auction for a good condition for between £1600 and 3k, which aint bad really, but then you've got im guessing about 1200 to transport and register in uk.

shame the £ is so shite at the moment! o i want one! now! damn it!

I was thinking an EK9 would hold its money over a Nissan 350z of the same approx. price but it seems that as soon as the GBP starts to rise or the JPY starts to fall the EK9 prices are going to drop like a lead balloon if all the Japanese people that kept the price artificially high are loosing interest.

I'd like to know if anyone had any experience with Mashamoto importing a '9.

im currently on the phone to them finding out costs etc. mmm.... they do seem cheaper than some importers but still costs with all the shipping, fees etc, ill wait til the £ becomes stronger for sure!

right just come off the phone to a fella, he's just quoted me for a ek9, grade 4 auction car, shipped. turned to uk spec, tax, tested for 4k. turn around 8- 10 weeks.

sounds very good to me as i was quoted this morning 7k for the same sort of thing! amazing!

Yeh I was given about the same difference when I got a quote (8-9k everywhere else but 6-7k with them), once my exams are done I'm going to look into their history a bit more and if it all looks hunky-dory put a deposit down and get bidding. Would you mind keeping me posted if you decide to go ahead with importing through them?

I still find it hard to beleive there is no catch, at their prices I could start my own import business buying from them and selling them on without lifting a finger!
