Announcing the 2011 Honda VTEC Challenge

i've just sent off for my MSA starter pack, was looking at the BC civic cup, but this could Broaden the horizon even further, love it,

Would be good to have you out there mate. Get on the forum I tell you :nice:

This sounds really interesting, considering it as my EK9 is stripped back at the moment, is a rollcage a requirement or just recommended? Also when will you be releasing all the regulations/rules?

Yes roll cage is a requirement. A bolt in cage with rear diagonal and door bars is the minimum - can be a dash dodger - but must be a proper cage not a show one like the Cusco

Fire extinguisher, battery cut off, rain light, towing eyes, FIA harness and proper race seat is all thats required.

Must be a plumbed in fire extinguisher, with internal and external triggers - right? A handheld one will not pass I gather?

Thanks

Correct, must be plumbed in etc

We will be doing a group Buy on The Vtec Challenge forum for the Lifeline 2000 4 Litre Electrical systems so keep an eye out!

Tidy, waiting back on pices fot the Armtech Battery isolator amongst other things, so should be able to get some cracking deals on the safety parts needed etc

looks like another option for me same as few others have said, i look forward to getting my msa pack and hopefully seing some of you guys in one of these new up and coming series next year, will be like a small ek9 family if we all go =)

Thats the one thing that pushed us to get this up and running. A paddock full of Hondas and their supporters from all over the forums will be a cracking place to be, and the racing will be great to watch for any honda enthausiast, and even better if your out there on the grid!!!

Just a little update. Due to massive interest we are adding two additional rounds to the 2011 calendar making it an 8 round series.

Also, we will have Matt Neal, Dan Eaves and Matt Hamiltons ex BTCC EP3 civics running in the series for 2011! These will obviously be modified back to production spec for the series.

one question on this.... i have been looking around for a bolt in EK chassis roll cage that meets the MSA requirements and have been unsuccesful! Do you know of somewhere that does as im looking to maybe enter this & trackday trophy...

I know multipoint welder is better but im looking for something cheaper at the moment

Alright Andy, not sure if this is of any help to you, but I know there's a place in Brotton near Redcar who are an official distributer for safety devices bolt in cages. Not sure if they meet the requirements for this sort of event but just thought it isn't far from you.

Dale.

^^ forgot to mention they do specific EK9 cages and are some sort of rally school by the sea, carnt remember the name but I can find out for you if your struggling :)

Different boro dude!

Cheers for the heads up though dude. I dont think they do, to be honest i think i'm going to have to have something welded in!

The OMP bolt in is MSA approved, I believe Mike can source you one if you cant find a dealer.

best to phone demon tweeks if you cant find anything for this series, they do custom-cages, omp and sparco roll cages

omp is like £450 for a bolt-in jobbie
