i got a B20 vtec in a EG and found a S9B box..will that work well??motor has a bit of work done

s9b box is out of 1.8vti civic and has torsen lsd but it has long 2-5th gears and a long final drive 4.266:1. I would say apart from the lsd it is the least desierable of the vtec b-series boxes.

Any one know the part numbers for the Syncros for EK9 transmission and how much would I have to get? Or is there a particular way in describing them(such as would I have to get for each gear?) I don’t got a clue!!

hi im for putin a b18c integra typer engine in my civic vti it has a 99 vti gearbox
wondering has anyone on here put a typeR engine in with a vti gear box its a standard gearbox i know a typer gearbox would b better but could use let me know what use think of it thanks alot

Sorry to bring ths thread alive, but i have a question.
When i got my car, it was supposed to have the LSD (its a ek4 converted to a ek9). The thing is that the stamp on the box was all faded, so i never got to see if it has the lsd.
So now, on saturday, while installing my spoon calipers, spinned the right side wheel forward and the left did the same (i had read before that if the car had lsd the other wheel should turn the other side). After that i started to worry, and just read this.
As i did in neutral, should i do this on 4th gear or on any gear?
How can i confirm I have LSD without getting the axles off?

I too would like to know how to identify without open up the gearbox.

I have two S80 gearboxes, 1 with LSD stamped on it (half-cut with GS-R B18C), spin one wheel, the other spin to the same direction, another S80 gearbox (97 JDM ITR) but no LSD stamped, perhaps faded, spin one wheel, the other turn the opposite side.

i know its 4.266 fd

1st -3.23
2nd - 1.9
3rd - 1.360
4th - 1.034
5th - 0.848

are these correct ?

ive got a b16b gearbox coming at the end of the month
reconditioned, 0 miles £650 fitted with 2 years warrenty
spot on! but the only thing is im not completly sure they know what i was on about when i ordered it im going to ring them up and see if its got the right number on it

how much more of a difference will it make compaired to my stock b16a2 gearbox, will it be noticable?

mind me asking where u had this excellent bargain, need one of these badly lol. struggling to find a decent gearbox with low mileage no matter a warranty

I have a y80 tranny and I'm planing to rebuild it with b16 2,3,4 gears. Does anyone know if I need the b16 mainshaft since it has part of 2nd gear on it or will the Gsr mainshaft work?
