i have a civic vtis and i beleive i am running a b16a bock with a b16b head and i have been told that i will be running ek9 type r cams. is this true and if so what cams can i get to get more out the vtec

thanks

I'd stick with the ek9 cams until you want to do some bottom end work. Pretty sure the more expensive cams out there need raised compression, uprated valvetrain to make the most of them.

Correct, b16b cams already have a high vtec crossover, what is your ultimate hp goal?

EK9 cams with good intake / header / exhaust / tuning and it should be quite enough.

If you want more without modifying the bottom you'll have to make a very good port & polish, slight milling and install flat valves on your head to increase your CR and optimize flow. You also could make an "endyn style" work on your OEM intake manifold.

thanks for all the help and advise, ill look into it all and i will start a thred soon once i comence work.

thanks
