Getting a B16B off a member on here, had a quick search around and asked on some other sites before but just thought I'd have a catch up on everything I need!

Car is a 1992 VTi (1.6 DOHC VTEC), to put b16b in -

- Same engine mounts
- DC2 Engine Loom?
- Chipped P30 or Conversion Harness (boomslang) to P73?
- Will I need a de-limiter?

- New 4-2-1 (B16 one would be alright I've heard, but need an upgrade anyway so may aswell get one that clears better)
- B18C Intake Manifold is the same as B16B (Have a B18C)
- B18C Flywheel is the same as B16B??
- Difference in the throttle bodies between the two?

Any tips welcome :)

Cheers, Sam.

I believe the B16b TB is 2mm smaller in diameter.

Why would you B16B it and not B18C it? considering the engines cost about the same price?

I'm not knocking it or anything, just curious :nice:

- Same engine mounts- Yes use your existing mounts.
- DC2 Engine Loom?Yes
- Chipped P30 or Conversion Harness (boomslang) to P73? Yes either will work, but P73 is ITR ecu not EK9
- Will I need a de-limiter?If you go with the chipped P30 then no otherwise for JDM ecu you will need the likes of Apexi RSM or HKS SLD

- New 4-2-1 (B16 one would be alright I've heard, but need an upgrade anyway so may aswell get one that clears better) Clearance will be fine with the OEM 4-2-1 but the aftermarket one will yield better gains
- B18C Intake Manifold is the same as B16B (Have a B18C)Correct
- B18C Flywheel is the same as B16B?? AFAIK
- Difference in the throttle bodies between the two?b16b t.b 60mm b18c t.b 62mm

Couple of tips I can think of is, torque every bolt to spec and clean the engine bay when the engine is out as its easy to access most areas:nice:

I've never seen a B18C go for anywhere near the same price as a B16B - personally, maybe a few have - but all the B18C's I've seen go for around 1600!

Went and brought a torque wrench not long ago, after a head stud snapped in the block :angry2: so all sorted there! At the moment either the car is getting completely stripped to nothing and respray, or the engine bay will just get a small shave and tidy up :)
