B16B With Buddy Club Spec IV Camshafts review!

will be ok daily driven with a good tune, could do with looking at a piston change to get the most from them though

You can google it. There is a guy whotried those 2 cams in a B20. Buddy Club's kicked butt

I had over 12.3 compression with the appropriate valvetrain, and as much as I thought the VTEC crossover caused a little hesitation when crossing over. I've deceded to go back to the Toda Spec B's next year.

I'm also taking into consideration the reliability as i used my car almost everyday.Every part should comply before i get these things to my B16B.Well,let see after a week.

Just "slamming" on BC4s without degreeing in the cams, without checking V2V and P2V clearance, and no fuel/ignition tuning just sounds insane/stupid to me.

BUT, 190whp without all of the above is not bad!

What makes you think they were just jammed in there by a caveman? These cams were professionally installed and tuned on a dyno, i know the user that owned the car this test was performed on, it was user Guillotine from another forum, he had a b16b in a Honda Del Sol.

But people do just jam them in, hell i just saw a thread were some idiot installed Pro3 cams with a 2" exhaust and no tuning and was complaining about lack of power :/

It was not mentioned in the first post here, it sounded like they mounted the cams and then tested the car on the dyno only to see the HP result.

If the cam gears where adjusted on the dyno, and some fuel/ignition tuning was done then i guess ~190whp is more or less "ok".

LOL, I remember the first time a took a b16a with BC3+ cams out on the road with no tuning done beforehand (I had a widband, and crome ready to start tuning), it ran like ****, and BC3+ aren't even that much bigger than type-r cams :p

My hatch is a daily driver with BC IV's in it. After some good tuning time I have one hell of a lopey idle but as far as daily drivability goes its not bad and hella fun to drive :)... Of course I have the compression to back the cams up :) (roughly 12.5:1) and yes its a pump gas tune thats how we do it in the states! :p...

this is the head package i had picked out, kind of awesome to hear a review before getting everything, im impressed

I am considering getting these in my B16B, the full lot, the cams, springs, retainers, valves and headgasket aswell as a full 2.5" exhaust.

Will they be ok as it is my daily driver and it does get used everyday. I want good low down power (well, as good as B16 can get) with a nice mid - top end for when I want some fun but it must be reliable.

lad get the bc spec 3+ won't need as much compression as the spec 4's and will see decent enough gain too in the midrange too :nice: but would recommend getting it mapped as well

I have the full spec 3 setup and remappable ECU on my daily driver.
With a good setup and map you will see circa 200hp.

tell me more what wheel horsepower you getting are you running high comp pistons?

are u better running mapping eg hondata ecu with the toda cams or does the standard one map them in ok ?
