Hey guys,

How much do you think I could get for my old B16B Engine? I was going to advertise it on Ebay this week.

The car cut out on me after a loud rattling noise was coming from the engine. The car still turns over, so the valves etc are not bent, but it still has an awful rattling noise. After removing the sump plug, there was metal swarf lying at the bottom. In my opinion it sounds like bearing failure, which is generally oil pump failure.

The engine will need a rebuild anyway, and ive bought a B18 with JDM Ecu to put in my 9.

So basically, how much could I get for my complete B16B(for rebuild) with rocker, inlet and exhaust manifold and STANDARD EK9 ECU?

I would guess around £500 if its needing fully rebuilt, you can buy a good b16b engine for £1000 and b18 for around £1500

I got £200 for B16B cams, £100 for inlet mani, £80 for springs and retainers, £80 for bare head. Still have rocker cover, complete bottom end and valves to sell. I'd say brake it, you'll get much more that way! Not many people out there looking for a shot B16B I'd say, and there are plenty ropey ones around. I paid £1000 for a perfectly healthy one and that included standard S4C LSD gearbox! I wouldn't pay £500 for a complete B16B that needs that amount of work.

I paid £500 for a perfectly healthy one, a knackered one isn't worth much at all.

Better off selling the head/cams etc, the block probably isn't worth anything.

Ok, cheers guys. I'll try my luck on eBay. Needing to get some money together to finish off my own conversion haha.
