B18 Turbo EK - My car

Sounds well, apart from the missfire lol, seamed to take for ever to get to the redline with it missing away! Was it blowing the spark out? you running a colder plug?

its mapped on Apexi Power FC.

No pics of the graph, however my tuner has just invested in a new set of DynoDynamics rollers, so i'll get the car a power run on the new rollers and a health check early this year.

JDP, yea mate thats exactly what it was doing. Colder plug now being used and doing the runs no problem. Also slightly lower boost so not as much strain.

Its tucked up for winter now, was put away start of Dec once gritters came out

Sold my TE37 track day wheels, pickin up some Team Dynamic Pro Race 1's (yes, 1's, not the later 1.2's) and considering the sale of the Spoon brakes to upgrade to a bigger setup.

Awesome car! Looking forward to seeing it out and about more this year Steve :nice:

Such a cool car.
Been through so much. I remember reading your build when I first got my Jordan.
You have had so many sets of wheels etc.

Dont sell the spoons, paint them green like original plan!

Cheers lads. aye you better believe it Steve, hoping this year is a good year. 2011 went well in the end :)

Cheers irfan. aye its had a fair few sets, iv probably lost count now tbh. 6 and half years.....think i'd maybe have something better than a 12 yr old Honda by now...... lol

Matty, i was gonna do them green.....then thought about gold.......but dunno. Resale value didnt really bother me. Unsure if upgrading to Wilwood/HiSpec is a good idea, as there kinda the "budget" big brake kit. Alcon and AP stuff is like £2k +, Brembo calipers and custom rotors/brackets extreme money as well.

Here i still need to get that front ARB from you at some point this decade (my bad) - that completely slipped my mind. Do you still have it?

aha aye i should do up at my mums house man yeh.

id just paint the spoons, with good disks and pads the spoons should be just as good as willwood/hispec

Cnt believe this was an ej9 shell at 1st!
You can tell you've put alot of time and effort into it, great work mate!

Matty, we'll need to chat and discuss times etc for me to come get that ARB.

Looking likely to just keep the Spoons and maybe upgrade the brake discs later this year.

Ok might as well try describe whats been going on. Been saving up some money over xmas to try and get some parts iv been wanting for long enough, but stuff happened.

Some of you may be on my facebook and seen my luck last weekend. Had a Saturday afternoon off from the football with our game moved to the Sunday, so me and a couple of the boys from the team went to the Celtic game since we had nout else happening.

Got to the game, standard procedure, bought some raffle tickets for the half time draw, went up to bookies, put on couple of bets, went and enjoyed the first half.

Half time draw comes and we win top prize. 15 big ones split 3 ways between us. ecstatic. me in the middle with white hoody under the Celtic top holding the real cheque, in the centre circle at half time, on the turf my heroes have ruined so many famous teams on, something iv only ever dreamed about. Very surreal moment.

Still in disbelief at being 5 grand up each, our phones are going daft with txts/calls/facebooks saying "lucky/jammy bastards" etc etc and our minds are going daft at what we are gonna spend the money on.

So instant party, and a few parts have been bought for the Civic. Not spending the full whack on it though..still trying to get myself a mortgage sorted out.

So first things first, TYRES. Need two 195/45's for the front so i can get the height and camber perfected. So two Toyo T1R's have been purchased. Will be sound enough for the road with the Civic, not like its gonna be out in the wet much anyway :)

Next item, a full SuperPro Poly Bush kit. For the full car. Been after this set for a year, now its ordered. FINALLY!!

Spoke to Stew@PPW about getting some parts. Initially all i was after was an ASR rear subframe brace and 24mm anti-roll bar kit. Ended up also asking about a set of gold LCA's so i can get a new set. The ones on my car the now are getting old (2007), and they were on it when the car was a daily doing 500 miles a week.

So ordered a set of imited editiong gold Function7 LCA's. He reckons i could be one of, if not the, first person in UK with a set.

Looking forward to getting these.

Now the dilemma. Iv already paid Stu for the ASR brace kit - but im now onto second thoughts, as iv just found out Function7 do a macthing subframe brace that will take a 24mm anti-roll bar setup. Hopefully the order is still in very early stages and we can maybe see about changing it.

Looking for some opinions here. ASR or Function& swaybar kit?

ASR

or Function7 (and maybe a green beaks bar while im at it....)

Opinions please guys. I think id like to get the full Function7 setup....... but iv always wanted the ASR kit.

So yea.... gonna be a busy wee month or so once these parts are here to get fitted.

Iv also sold my TE37 track wheels as theyt were only 15x6.5. Iv managed to get my hands on a set of original Team Dynamic Pro race 1's (not 1.2's, the originals). Will be helpful if i do end up changing up from Spoon calipers to a larger setup soon.

Front bumpers off and away for repair. Iv also got an Endless Traction bar to get fitted at the same time as the bushes etc, sump gasket needs renewed and will be getting a full service to ensure all is healthy before terrorising the streets and finally getting the car its mag shoot. Then onto a track day at some point once im used to it again (and sorted out getting some timing belt covers back onto the engine)

lots of choice mate. Speak to your tuner that you're going to use and see what they recommend. I'm running apexi power fc personally, and my tuner has said he could get better results and a finer map from using Hondata S300. There are others you could go for as well.

I wouldnt rule the wilwood kit out mate, ive ordered onenfor mine and should be here this week, im using mine mostly on track so ill let you know how they perform ;)

awesome build, your making about the same numbers as i am, must be hella fun!!!!!

just read all this thread, what a weapon! nice one winning the raffle too must be chuffed!
