B18c Kanjo fast road EG4 project, rare parts build..........

Already love the plans for the Kanjo EG!!! Wish you lived closer, I would have probably gone in with you on the Unit.

Its kinda strange seeing a build with rare/genuine JDM parts. Your collection certainly eclipses mine!

Did you keep the SiR grey rubbing strips for your EG4?

Ahh wondered if you were on here mate, sure you remember me?! :p Was after your ZEAL seat before a while back, we used to chat on Civiclife quite often about the rarity of it and about other parts too!

Thanks mate, well as you know, and will know once you remember me I'm rare parts nuts, always have been, have been collecting for years now - have far more impressive stuff to follow for my sedan built hopefully! Things that will blow peoples minds hopefully!

Its a proper shame we're not closer as your not majorly far away from me from what I remember??? :( We would have been good in business together I think!

The Grey bump strips are on my EG but I may well be tempted to do an exchange of some sort for normal thin SIR ones as I'm going colour coded eventually OR removing them all together, their only on there temporary so will 100% be for sale soon, probably early next year!

YES! this will be ace when its done. keep it up dude :D

Thanks mate really appreciate it, such a boost hearing peoples positive comments.

I just hope the mods don't come on and ban me again, just hope they let me stay this time so I can chat and get on with the build! Fingers crossed if I'm a good boy they will let me stay LOL :D

Basically have a few updates:

This arrived, about flippin' time too really as it was taking forever, super duper low miles as you can tell, couldn't get a new one unfortunately.....

Have some thing VERY rare in the pipeline, no guarantees yet BUT there is a distinct possibility I will be buying and importing a genuine Carbing cage for this, unfortunately its only the half cage type, so for the rear part of the car, but its still going to cost me in excess of £700 to bring over! But is one of the rarest cages for the EG available. It will help for now at least!

Also bought some ARP flywheel bolts and a few other goodies too!

Will start uploading pics of the rest of the goodies soon as I have chance....

I remember man, no worries! I just hadn't seen you on any of the forums for a while. Really glad that you are still going strong. I'm afraid I'm still clinging on to the Zeal seat, haha. Hopefully I'll have a few updates over the winter but being a student again has its disadvantages :(

Did you mention what wheels you are going to run? I had a shot at some beaten up Work CR-01's but stupidly deliberated too long :angry2:

I love the Livesports wing btw, looks amazing on the right car.

Ahhh jeeez mate, sorry to hear that, you will find some rare wheels I assure you. You will have some luck one day, if its meant to be it'll just happen! :D

And mate honestly, keep your ZEAL in your SIR-S its a key component there to making it stand out so so much. I have a nice Kevlar Border/VISION seat for this build but have a super duper rare FEEL's seat on its way from Japan for my sedan build ;)

And the wheels im running are in one of the pics, genuine Spoon SW388's in 16x7" and ET45 but will be running small spacers just to get them sitting a little more aggressive maybe. Tire choice will be Dunlop Direzza 02G and 03G for track/fast road during the summer and Dunlop Direzza Star Spec's for damp/wet/winter use. :)

And the Livesports is still in the packaging along with my Chargespeed fenders I bought for the sedan, their all still boxed when I brought them over from Japan, the wing was the last one they had in stock....was very very lucky as obviously Livesports doesn't exsist any more as they closed down a few years back now :( :nice:

cant wait till next update.

Thanks very much matey....... more to come soon i promise!

Love builds like these.

Thanks mate, I'm glad I'm doing some thing right, always a major boost to hear that :D

I have also recently broken a '93 Civic EG6 SIR-S, which was absolutely tragic, but had to be done due to the shell being rusty and badly corroding around key subframe areas on later inspection. Seemed strange scrapping it when im building an LSi shell up, didn't seem right, but needs must

that must of hurt abit, duno how id react having to scrap a rare car, especially one i already own :nono:

looking a very nice build, shame about the garage needing to close as the pictures look great. Using a driveway, axle stands and a beaten up jack gets on my tits.

you havent got the black plastic trim for around the windscreen?? mine's gone brittle and cracked in places so its now showing the different colord clips which hold it to the windscreen

will be keeping a eye on your build so best of luck :nice:

Man, its going to be crazy seeing some of these parts. Feel's seat? Never seen one in a build, ever. Only seen them in catalogs. I'll be hanging on to the seat, no worries, and despite losing out on the CR-01s I'm still happy with my CP-Fs. I love that you are running Star Specs as winter tyres :p Haha.

Same flywheel as mine, good bit of kit.

Thanks very much matey! And don't worry I'm hoping to have another unit soon but cheaper fingers crossed ;)

It did hurt, was a terrible feeling, felt sick watching the grabber pick it up and just crush it like an old Heinz Beans tin can. Was terrible :( Even my old man felt sick as he was there with me when it was scrapped.

And I'll have a look see what trims I have left, they were OK off it if i remember rightly......

Haha yeah good old FEEL's seat, Sam is bringing it over for me hopefully! Will be around Christmas time or January though apparently.

Yeah I noticed your CP-F's on there, they're stunning wheels!

And Star Specs will be frightening but apparently their OK in the damp where as the 03G and 02G are like driving on bare slicks...... may invest in some tarmac rally type damps as well, we'll see how it goes for tires, I'm not going to worry about that until the Spring now I think.

Ok it has been a little slow just recently, have been sorting out a Civic EP2 for the missus, so she's now officially back in the scene and game to start building her Civic....., she's planning on ordering a Buddy club Pro Spec system, some coilovers, carbon bonnet.....and all sorts of other bits.....god help us all. LOL.

Any way, as said things have been a little slow a, have had quite a few deliveries coming in recently, recently had my sandblaster and blast media off a member on Civiclife so was well chuffed with that, can start ousting the small rust areas underneath the EG now before the full Anti-rust primer, stone chip shield and then Waxoyl goes on. It'll be the most heavily protected EG underneath in the UK by the time I've finished with it!!!! Will make me feel so much better, I feel like regardless of how long it takes, in the long run, ill sleep a happy man.

So this week I will be sand blasting and undersealing. Then taking the parts I need powder coated down for powder coating. May also try and get the side skirts, fiberglass JDM tailgate and a few other bits sprayed too while I'm at it.

Also the standard lower radiator stay/bracket needs re-locating further across to cope with the full length ARC DC2 radiator. Will be deleting the 2 aircon brackets in the process :)

Also a very distinct possibility of some pretty bloody unique custom Carbon Kevlar door panels and rear quarter block offs........ in discussions at the moment for getting the panels made and then I will be making a template and cutting them to size and fitment then myself!!! ;) Should look SICK to say the least.

Took delivery in the week of these.......

Competition Clutch Kevlar/Cermaic Stage 3.5, Juran oil block adapter and Engine Torque damper.

I have an ORC clutch/flywheel combo I was going to use but sticking with the C.C 3.5 now instead with the TODA flywheel on page 2.

These also came........ debating weather to just simply clean the inlet or physically spray it silver so its gleaming. The fuel rail setup will be binned in favour of a purple item to match the valve cover i have.

And a set of Avid Billet Torque mounts as well :)

DSCF1829.jpg

Got these as well to change the inlet studs, exhaust studs are near new any way. These are a total f*cking nightmare to get out, there are 2 I'm pretty much failing on now..... :(

DSCF1828.jpg

Removing the fuel tank and other gubbins to get access to the shell itself ready to prep for undersealing........

DSCF1825.jpg

Currently on their way to me so far/waiting on.......

- ARC intake elbow and DC2 airbox with K&N panel filter (until the ITB's go on!)

- Rare JDM FIELD VTEC Controller (OBD1 specific) + a spare one for parts

- Brand new Spoon sports clutch release bearing

- Brand new Spoon sports "COOL" racing radiator fluid

- Brand new Blueprint (harder than OEM) RTA bushes

- Low mileage B18c IACV valve (was missing off the inlet mani that I bought)

A few others bits as well ;) ........and plenty more to come!!!

Ok this project has been very slow at the moment, I have now lost the unit due to a STUPID rent increase to a ridiculous asking price and an ******* of a landlord that's got no grasp on being a decent human being and trying to work out a deal to make things work.... instead, decides to kick everyone out that cannot meet his new leas agreements and prices. His loss as now he has a load of empty units! LOL

So unfortunately, back to back yard garage tuning in my garage out the back of the house........ after having a massive unit to work in with plenty of space, I can honestly say that this I'm finding very very difficult, but I guess I just need to get on with it! :(

..... In a way I'm slightly happy as at least everything is closer to me now, and the garage is like a Roman Fort to be honest, probably the strongest most secure garage in the village thanks to my grandfather! haha

So far the ARC intake chamber and DC2 airbox has arrived, the Spoon coolant, Spoon release bearing and the B18c IACV valve which was needed.......

Have also taken delivery of some ARP flywheel bolts too!

Here's some bits....yeah, 3 tubs of coolant isn't going to cut it i don't think!! More to follow.....

More pics to follow of the actual build up and some more parts that are ready for it!

Powder coating still needs to be done and spraying so may pop those up to have them done this week!

Nice build, i will following your build.......I used to own a EG4 LSI in the exactly color but i replaced mine with a black EG6 which is in better condition than my EG4. Keep up your good work!!

Haha cheers mate.

It always seems strange i scrapped an EG6 SIR-S.... to continue with this!

But it was the opposite with me, this is better condition than the EG6 was and I've owned this years and years, it was covered up in my garage for about 4 or 5 years ....... until this year when I pulled it out to build it haha. So you could say its "meant to be" sort of thing!

Dude, I just noticed you were looking for the J's vented bonnet. There's one on CivicLife at the moment. A little damage- but overall pretty good.

Keep the updates coming man!

Hay matey, thanks mate, yeah I noticed that one, have been speaking to him at length about it, there is a "possibility" it's not a J's bonnet, there is another company that makes one very similar to it, just as rare don't get me wrong, but until I take a proper look of it I can't tell from the pics..... unless it has a J's plaque on it, then it'll confirm its a J's.

I really want it, but he's not prepared to let me courier it down to me, and I can't figure out a way of getting all the way to Newcastle for it, would cost a fortune to drive up as the only transport I have is a 2.0litre petrol Frontera = million pound of petrol I expect.

So not best amused :((

This looks good mate, really love looking at/collecting rare bits so will be keeping an eye on your progress here. A real shame about the unit but its good to see that your trying your best to keep things progressing :)

Thanks mate! Definitely keep in touch then mate, always into chatting about rare parts and that. I eat sleep and drink Civic's and JDM haha, can probably talk about it flat out for the rest of my life and not get bored lol. :p

I will be making a come back eventually with a small business so its not a complete loss, will get a better unit and more affordable hopefully as this landlord was just blatantly ripping people off.
