Just taken delivery of my new b20 engine :D got it for £195 including alternator and started, its done 100K soo not too bad. Its gona have a complete refresh and build.

I better get some researching on the gone for the best power tweeks and tuning :blinx:

nice one ;) b20's seem to be the way forward

B20's are very good, mine was great.

did it come out a auto or manual?

i paid £250 for mine with 60k on fsh etc

Are you going to put up a build thread would like to see one?

It was out of a auto, but it a jdm block so i believe, havnt had a proper look yet. clocks say 100,000K not miles

Well i got delivery thrown in to :) but its gona be full stripped and rebuilt (y)

Ye mate defo, iv got a build thread already so will slap everything in there, not gona be doin anything on it for a few weeks or so though tbh, got to much uni work on

Got yourself a bargain there! Found a complete b20 engine on ebay for around £350 when i was browsing the other day.

Such an underrated engine.

why is it so good? just more torque? and do you still get the aggressive vtec crossover?

Banging dude! auto's are best as its had less rag.

yea get it rebuilt, rings, bearings etc :)

very good torque and yes vtec is still the same as the B series engines, there good due to how cheap you can build them up for good reliable power :D

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get it from? Feel free to pm :)

i was under the impression you had to fit b16/18 head onto the b20 bottom end to have vtec? or did they do a b20 vtec already?

mate you wont be let down by a b20 they are awesome and suprisingly quick engines, ive been rocking mine for over 5 years.

but as you know it is not as simple as buying a cheap block, you will need to change alot of stuff.

the vtec cross over can be violent depending on your cams i would recomend ek9 or dc2 cams.

here is some important stuff you will need that is often over looked.

you will need a catch tank set up as the b20 block vents through to the cylinder head and the vtec heads cant vent the pressure, b20 blocks dont have the charcoal canister.

there is a test peice you can get from honda(lings) that screws in the block where the charcoal canister does go

a set of arp head studs, as the heads have been known to blow off the block

and i would change oil and water pumps as the engine will be operating at higher rpms, dc2 ones fit well.

any Q's drop me a pm

hope this helps you out
