bad fitment why??

Hi,

I have a ek4 -97 with a pre facelift type r bumper. My problem is that it has a bad fit. I have bought the car like this so i don´t know much of the history. Maybe it´s just not properly mounted? Can say that the rubberstrip under the hood is gone. (the one in the front)

What do you all think is the problem??

whip the bumper off and have a good look for any signs of damage or anything, or could be a rep bumper that just doesn't sit right.

Thank you for your answers, think i found out the problem:

The bumper is for a EK 99-00 and my car is -97...

So new question anyone know where to buy a ek9 bumper for 96-98?

did not now there were any differens, probablythis is the problem with my back bumper to then.
