Been offered a swap for my civic jordan for a ep3 type r what do you guys think? Help

Heey guys, really stuck here.. trying to sell my lovley honda civic jordan and really ament getting anywhere near what i paid despite only covering 6 thousand miles in it as i dont do alot of high miles. I have been offered a swap with a lad who wishes to swap his ep3 type r for my car? dose this sound like a good deal? il put the links below and if you's could gimme some feed back id really appreciate it.

They both seem nice cars, Just depends on your reasons for selling up?

And what you wanted as you next car?
 
I say you do the swap and then break the EP3, sell everything apart from the engine and gearbox and then buy a EK9, do the conversion and have a K20 track beast :naughty:
 
ek9 is the car i want eventually just dont have the cash just now. did contemplate breaking the ep, how much can u make from breaking an ep? i have the whole winter to toy with it. i was going to buy a banger for scrap to drive for winter
 
I would keep the jordan! That ep3 doesnt look like anyting speacial!

In-regards to breaking an ep3 i dont think it would be as easy to shift parts like an ek!
 
hoghest iv been offered is 3500 for my jordan.... could i make a quick buck taking the ep. as its not really a car i want but could fund a 9 if i could sell that for 5000 easier ?
 
Look at the amount of ep3`s for sale on Pistonheads!! I dont think it would shift easier! Think about it, why does he want to swap!! I would hold onto the jordan for now man! Its a very nice example! Or sell it and save for a ek9!

Yeah, that's a good point as the EP3 is a newer car and parts are more readily available, I think I would agree, keep it until you can afford an EK9 as I'm sure you can buy an EK9 with the amount you sell the Jordan for :nice:
 
okay lads im taking in what yous are saying. im gueesing this just isnt a good time to sell, i was offered 5200 for my jordan just after i bought it but now cant even touch this, thats what im finidng hard to justify
 
Wouldnt swap a jordan for an ep to be honest, jordans are rarer and probably handle better to be honest and ep's are way to common imo.
 
^^^^ What gav said, my jordan out handle most EP's in the twisties :D
 
i would do it. then sell the EP. which will sell more quicker.

or if you break it i could buy the whole front end exterior parts :)

ep's are as hard as ek's to sell if anything ek's sell quicker. Dont see why ud swap yours for a car that is really any quicker and doesnt handle as good. My jordan handles very well and had a full rebush and 2bh its the best car ive sat in including my dc2
 
i get what you mean buddy but the Ep is a newer car and still holds its value, he will struggle to sell that jordan for 4900, he would be really lucky to get 3500, or maybe 4.

if its a straight swap he could actually make a bit of money on top maybe 500-700 with the ep

personally i wold do it! :)
 
I would keep the jordan, its one of only 500, and is a piece of history! After all, we dont do it to make money do we!? Would you not regret selling it/swapping? It would break my heart! lol. If i had the money i would have a jordan, and a jdm dc2 in c/w to go with my nine and never sell them!
 
yeaah i also agree the ep's are far too common and just baught by young lads who want a fast car these days and seem to drive like idiots. i know we arent here to make money off our cars but bcause we love them, but surely if i could make a quick few hundred pound for extra to spend on a 9 or something it would be a good idea?
 
I'de keep the jordan (be easier to sell i think) ep3s are too common and i don't know what it is about them you just can't beat the ek shape
 
i would stick with the jordan sam and hold out for the right money. I did a straight swap at the start of the year for an 05 ep3 with 60k mint condition for my 99 teg with 72k uk spec and it took me ages to sell the ep3 yeh i got 6k in the end and made money but i was just lucky i guess
 
yeah man i agree, i just want some cash in the bank tohold onto. as most ppl know i couldnt get a 9 till im 21 anyway due to my insuarance but i just want to ave some financial security in the mean time and ep3 money could do that.
