Black EG6 SiR's New home.

Very nice car, tried to persuade my mrs to get an EG but shes having none of it haha!

Bit of a while since last update. Had to collect some parts and get it back out of storage.

Finally got the exhaust sorted. I sourced a good condition UK DC2 center section, mongoose baffled Decat and a bran new EK9 back box from the stealership.

Plus all the bolts, springs and gaskets. Seems honda parts have taken quite a hike since I last bought new exhausts. The back box was £187 :wow: where as it was £118 few years back. But needs must and I hate old used exhaust, especially aftermarket OE replacements :nono:. Even more so ones that are not even right for the car :angry2:.

First off after giving the DC2 center the old ping echo resonanse test with a spanner. It sounded to hollow for my liking. So I cut open the center silencer, dismantled the left over wading shreds and re wrapped it in stainless wool.

Then repacked the box with loose wool fiberglass exhaust wading.

I had forgotten how much of an obomination the exhaust was that was on the car.

Nice new bolts and springs to go on with the honda gaskets :nice:

Love an exhaust that fits perfectly. Always been a fan of standard Type R systems on standard B16A's.

Few good shots of the underside of the car.

Also Im sure most will be pleased to know I put the advans back on while I was there :nice:
The 16" BBS's were just to harsh with the coilovers and didn't really suit the car enough.

Car looks lovely on the sa3r's man very nice indeed. What happened to the door mouldings?

The car came like that. Got a set in the body shop getting sprayed at the mo. Going with the usual gun metal, anthracite colour on them.

They advans do look a lot better on, that's one tidy eg you have :nice:

Few pics of it in preparation for japfest. Shame about the crap weather though, car was gleaming on the way over there at least lol. Apologies in advance for the crap quality photo's. They really don't do the car justice.

Masked most of the car up to save any polishing paste getting into the cracks or rubbers and going dry. In preparation for a full machine polish and wax.

Had the wing fully stripped and resprayed as the something had reacted badly under the paint from the last owner. Was done at a respected local body shop but I was muchly unhappy with the final results. The finish was to orange peely for me. So after my mate flatted it down and machine polished it back up we decided to machine polish the whole car. Then got his dad to respray the bonnet and bumper as we just weren't happy with their condition.

Ready for flatting and polishing up.

Pulled the mint set of side trims off my Track SiR and fitted them on. Made sure to use silicone sealant around the clips to seal it up nicely. Couldn't stand it without the trims on. I had a bit of a scare with one of the pieces of tape covering what looked to be rust but turned out to be a clump of polish build up.

Think its the first car I have ever gone and bought wax for. Always just chucked some old turtle wax on my cars in the past.

Bumper and fogs back on. Decided to remove the protective sticker off the fog lenses as it was peeling off and gathering sand in the old glue. Cleaned up like new.

I really should buy a decent camera or at least an up to date phone LOL.

Also pulled my original JDM mats out of my SiR going to waste sitting in a to be track. Just needed a quick clean and good as new.

Was never a fan of the Uk DC2 mats in it.

Interior looking good. Not a fan of the front seats though. Unsure what spec or model they are from. Look nice but certainly dont agree with my crapy back.

Will try get some more pics of it with my black Recaros and the original Mats in place as it really finishes the car off.

This used to be my car before, I had spent alot of time and money on this car Kieran and I hope you look after it well!

Just a few issues I feel that I need to get off my side:

The exhaust: I was looking for an OEM EG exhaust for a while until one popped up for sale, so i bought it and it turned out to not fit well and the seller would not accept a return so I was pretty pissed off as I had already sold the aftermarket exhaust and needed to get the car back on the road so I fitted this as best as I could. When your mate came over and drove it I told him the exhaust was a tight fit and he told me he wasn't bothered about it. (was also mentioned in the advert)

The rear caliper: I noticed this was an issue and had purchased a new caliper for it but its now somewhere in my shed as I never got round to fit it, If I find it I will post it to you free of charge.

The rubbing on the chassis: I did not have that issue in my ownership, I used to clean it, had wheels off etc but never noticed that rubbing, good thing you caught it in time!

Apart from those two issues, it was one hell of an eg6 and I miss it alot :(

I hope you keep it as it is while adding a few additions of your own, I think your should keep those Advan Sa3r's on the car as they suit it so damn well! Maybe have them refurbed in another colour such as bronze?

Also get some yellow glass film for those fogs! I think i paid like £200 for the set lol they were genuine Honda Stanley items.

I will keep an eye on this as I love that car too much!

Couple of pics for ya:

What I would have ended up doing to it if I carried on and not bought a gtr instead:

Yea god knows what spec exhaust it was. Was some sort of aftermarket replacement. Who ever you bought that off was was a con man. Im pretty happy with fitting a fresh DC2/EK9 system anyways.

Is mad the brake pipe wasn't spotted on MOT or even test over here. Must have been the odd angle from the Meister coilover brackets. I did have to reposition the bracket to route the braided ones cleanly.

Doubt I will change the colour of the wheels. I think its what makes them suit the car. Plus I love anthracite type coloured wheels lol. Just need to keep a look out for the center covers and Nuts.
