boost? or kswap?

If you get bored of the k20, you can always go turbo as well ;) Which, inevitably you'll want to do.... :D

go for boost. the head is ready put pistons and rods ,tune it and you have a monster:nerv:

You'll have to tell dvla about changing to a 2.0 litre and then tax increase if you go k20. I think it's personal opinion obviously. If you want a lot more power and torque a turbo can be your friend. I'm not sure what a tuned k20 can get mpg wise but mine manages 30 mpg if I drive carefully.

Si that rule only applies for cars registered after March 2001 and then its done on CO2 emissions rather than CC. A K20 swap will not cause a road tax rise.

Oh still waiting for you to take me for a spin :D

Confirmed, my road tax is the same.

Petrol is not great at the moment, 230 to 250 miles to a full tank including the reserve, an estimate, 70mph on the motorway and some steady town driving, I do have a fault on my wideband wire, shorting in the heater matrix, Will thinks this may affect my economy, hoping to get it sorted at the start of May, then I can look at it again.

Ahh, cheers Russ. I didn't know that :) That's handy!

my k20 teg with cams and a few other bits and bobs, street tuned by me, is better on fuel than any of the 10 or so b series cars i have owned. i think the vtc and 6th gear really help on the economy.

there are plenty of people on clubrsx with supercharged, turbo, an n/a dc5's with mpg in the high 30's low 40's when driving considerately........and a US gallon is significantly less than a uk one

i looked at a k20 swap a few years ago and i got the same power from a very mild tuned b20/b16.

i would say once you bought a k20, the hasport motor mounts, strange gear linkage it would cost the same as boosting the car.

but at the end of the day its your car you have to drive it, its easy for us to say build a boosted b18 and run 400 whp but its your choice at the end of the day, go with what you feel is best.

BUT I WILL SAY GO TURBO MONSTER B!! LOL

omg you didnt finish this car yet its being a year since you start this and havnt make your mind then you need to build your b turbo no question about it

If Ur not fussy about stayin Na I'd go turbo for bang for buck. K swap ain't cheap unless you can do everything yourself, even then you'd be looking at atleast 3k

3k for a K-swap? Without engine alright ;) Same for turbo build, also not done for a good one for 3k.
