BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE010 - What's the next best thing?

mytyres is a brilliant site, they have rs2's for pretty cheap. i'll be going for some next if i cant find any more RE01-R's, as my front 2 are pretty worn and could do with replacing. the rs2's probably wont be 'as' good as the re01-r's, but im sure they'll be more usable in the wet :)

I see somebody on itr-dc2 has enquired about a set of RE-11 from tirerack, quoted - just under £400 delivered to UK, this is of course without HMRC cut - likely to be another £100ish maybe..

just had to replace the re01-r's on my car, gutted though cos no tires in the uk come close without going fully semi slick, which is no good seeing as winter will be coming round soon :angry2:

guys please dont laugh, but kumho ku31 estaca are excellent. good grip & value for money!

ask matt o hes got them too

3 wheels round a rounabout, excellent

hahahahaha :D

oh, you said DONT laugh... ^^;

nah in all serious, they prob are very good indeed, depends on the environment they're driven i guess. i love my re-01r's

seriously come sit in my passenger seat, :secret: opposite lock followed by a bit of 3 wheel action. :drive: much better than parada spec 2's!!:)

well due to the shortage of these at the moment my road rims are currently being shod with firestone sz90`s Ill let you all know how i get on when they're on the car next week,

thought they would be a suitable replacement as bridgestone and firestone have the same parent company etc etc,,,

gone down to 50 series to improve gearing a little bit and help with sidewall stiffness,
nice tread pattern also...

Iv'e heard good things about the Pirelli's Zero Nero with the a-symetric layout, and they say they are good in the wet as you have the directionals on the front which is meant too move the water out too the sides through the tread pattern, which is meant too mean "better" traction and handling in the wet!

I have a set of very good RE01-R tyres on mint ek9 wheels. Would you be interested in some kind of px?
Thanks Duncan

I'd have to say the Yokohama Advan Neova Ad08.Can't even believe nobody has mentioned them yet ?It has it all... good in the wet , very good on dry and hard sidewalls. They cost as much as toyo R888 around here.

well ive done about 100 miles on tehse now and they grip awesomeley in the wet, not quite as firm feeling in general as the re 010`s but the overall grip has gone up for sure, quite impressed with these so far time to see how long they last and how they perform in the dry,

would always definitley reccomend going down to 50 seies tyres over 55,
the car is much more liveley with the effect this has on the overall gearing of the car, 3rd gear is lovely now,, :nice::nice:

and feels much better at motorway speeds, bit more go in the car if you need to squirt past someone in top gear.. :nice:
