burning oil... like a lot


The oil rings... if the bores were scored i'd be bringing the into it as well though...
 
i see.....well anyway as i said, i am rebuilding anothet engine which i bought from my good mate joe on here....that engine is healthy with a lot less miles on the clock so im confident i will be fine.

but yeh i can understand what your saying about my current engine.
 
The engine was mint when I took it out - the only reason it smoked was due to a valve stem seal not seating properly (when i installed ITR cams & valvesprings) which was confirmed when ali-c took it to the machine shop.

Having a similar issue with mine, in VTEC it smokes at high rpm, and if drive alot in VTEC will use around 1l of oil for 350 - 400 miles. Did the stem seals which helped a bit but i'm sure its the oil rings now or could be valve guides. Winter rebuild it is!
