Okay I've searched this and I have found some info but it's really mixed and I would like to hear from people go have turbo'd b motors or tune turbo'd b motors.

I'm currently building my b16a2 that is to be turbod, what I would like to know is what cams are good for boost? Ive heard from some that Ctr and itr cams are good and have good lift but the overlap on them is not good for boost as it just pushes boost right through the inlet and back out the exhaust. So I was looking more towards b18c4 cams as they have less overlap but also have smaller lift, then some people say theyre crap aswell though.

I was thinking that the guys with Ctr and itr cams are just compensating the overlap with adjustable cam gears, is this correct?

Ive still got my standard b16a2 cams, would these be any good with adjustable gears?

Any help would be much appreciated

I use CTR cams in my b16 turbo. I just set them to what the factory cam gears give me. I would like to buy an adjustable set of gears in the future though, as there is power to be had by tweaking them.

The b16 cams work just fine with boost. As to how much power you will gain with adjustable gears, im unsure.

C4 cams are widely used also.

Is it not better just to get the car running on boost first then worry about the cams and degreeing them?

I'll be trying out a set of GSC turbo cams in my setup... I'm hoping they'll live up to expectations.

Thanks for the info bud, I will be running it n/a for a little while still until Ive got a few more bits. I was just asking so that when im doing the new valve springs could put the new cams in at the same time. Was wondering what was in that crx at Crail. Fecking rapid!

Im using the b16b valve springs also, forgot to add that. I just tried to keep my build simple instead of having aftermarket cams to worry about.:nice:

Also them GSC cams Rich is on about are getting good reveiws over the pond.

Aye the CRX is quick enough just now:naughty: Pity i rarely use it!

Coool, think I might go with ek9 cams If I can get a set and was gonna go for supertech dual springs but standard Cro-moly retainers as it will be a daily.

Nice, how much they coming in at bud? i'l keep an eye on your build thread to see how these cams go. Hows long till its done now then?

Yeah, that's one of the reason I jumped on them. Let me know if your after them and I'll give you the details of the place I got mine from. I payed $475 + delivery.

Not that well versed in turbo setup's but for a supercharged setup everyone in the states seems to find the combination of GSR (C4) Intake cam and Type R exhaust cam with adjustable gears to dial out the excess overlap to be the best setup on Jackson Chargers.Using both type R cams looses out throughout the range up to around the 7500+rpm range by about 10-15lbft.

Dont know how much help that is with turbo setups, but seems like a cheap alternative.

Would have been better off comparing those to the pro 1 cams with the lift they have, nothing like the tuner series cams.
