Well I was having heating issues with the engine. I knew from before it was to do with the thermostat. It wasn't closing quick enough or at the right temperature, I tested it once I had it out and it was faulty, it was taking about 2 mins to close. Anyway went along with fitting the new one. Put the plug back on the switch in the housing, screwed the earth back on, put the induction kit back together. All finished and the car wouldn't start.

Symptoms:

It was like the imobilzer was kicking in, no spark, nothing. The dash lit up and the fuel pump was working, but that was it.

Solution:
Took about an hour of trying different things.

Check the earth which is attached to the thermostat. My one was a bit sensitive to what way it was connected to the thermostat housing. Got it earthed properly and started first time.

Recommendations:

Seal the thermostat in with silicone instant gasket.
I had to change the thermostat before and water pissed out of it once the engine was turned on and running for a while. Use the instant gasket to ensure it's sealed or else you'll have to re-do all that hard work and then seal it in.

Check the terminal where it is being earthed, bend the wires a little (fiddle around with them). Keep doing it and the car should turn on.

Some genious in honda thought it was a smart place to put a earth, that's the reason why this happens.

Just one thing.

Ek9 JDM has no immobiliser.

Good guess on the earth bad earth can cause all sorts of unexpected gremlin like behaviour. :nice:

I have a Clifford alarm and it was like the immobiliser from that was kicking in. Weird thing about the earth in question is all the other electrics were working fine
