Got my tyres fitted onto the wheels
Took them home and gave them a right good clean
Wheels and tyres were cleaned using meguairs super degreaser to get all the junk off the wheels and the white lubricant they use to fit tyres! Truely hate the stuff!
A small brush was used to get into the grooves and tight areas, then rinsed and dried
Once dried I payed attention to the inners where alot of old glue residue form the wheel weights and tar deposits
Autosmart tardis was used to soak and remove all the glue and tar
Here you can see the tar just desolving!
Next ironx was used to further clean the wheels. Here you can see all the iron deposits which are invisible to the naked eye "bleed" and desolve
Wheels were that bad I gave it in all 4 coats. This was what was left after the 4th application
Wasn't too happy with the amount of contamination that was left behind. So decided to clay the wheels and rinsed them. It was now already to get dark 9.30-10pm. So took the wheels inside to get dried
Next I polished them in and out and buffed off before applying a ceramic coating on each wheel. Ceramic coating is new technology in the automotive industry. This coatings are scratch resistant and chemical resistant and offer longer durability against any wax or sealant. This coating that I'm testing on my wheels claims that it can with stand temperatures of 750 degrees celius, so with that in mind this will be perfect candidate to protect my wheels for many more years to come. Once the coating was applied it need to be left for 72hours!!! Without any contact with dust or water to allow to fully cure
Pictures don't justify how clean these are. The coating itself brought out some much gloss and depth to the wheel, will deffo be in talk with the company soon
All in took around 4-5 hours cleaning and polishing the wheels - one more thing off my mind
The following day this was done -
Now to put it all back together and get all my parts fitted, remapped, and geo setup done for track! Been a long week but finally getting somewhere
