Can anyone recommend a good set of coilovers for an ek9. I want something to suit the car for daily driving and was thinking of getting Tein Superstreet`s, can anyone tell me if its a wise choice?

Hi, welcome to the site! Would go amiss to introduce yoursself and your car in the Members Rides section... ;)

Tein superstreets are no better than standard suspension really, the standard suspension is perfect for daily driving TBH.

Why exactly do you want coilovers?

Cheers man, ya ill upload a few more pictures of the car. Well i forgot to say that the car is already on lowering springs but i want to have the car lower, i just think it looks better and when i say daily driving i dont usually stick to the speed limits i want something with good road handling aswell.

Not something you should admit to on a public forum :p

Tein superstreets are good for daily driving, about as good as stock EK9 suspension but with adjustable dampening & Height adjustment. You would be just aswell buying some miesterR Zeta S, as they are comfortable but better handling than superstreets, and also cheaper ( i have had both sets ) also with the miesterR being Dual Perch you can adjust the height without changing the Spring pre-load :)

Thanks for the help man. I didnt realise it was so hard to choose a set of coilovers. If i wanted to buy coilovers straight away and fast, Tein and BC would be the two i could get as i can buy them local other then that i would have to buy over the internet but if you dont recommend Tein i think i might forget about them.

Well lad. I have bc on mine and I do like them alot. They come with damping and I have set them around the middle setting but on hard they are rock hard and feels like a little Go kart and I never put them on the softest but I have no problem reccomending them mate

@jdm 3383 think i seen u in carlow the other night at the round about just up from bradshaws! i was in the ek9 00 D 185 reg.. im in collage up in cvarlow

how much are bc

Lots of people will reccomend BC, I wouldn't personally as I think they ride like crap, but then the roads we have here are crap and not great for stiff and lowered cars. A higher, more compliant suspension package is called for in my case, but obviously this isn't everyones requirement.

What are the roads like that you most often drive on?

I try and avoid bad roads as much as possible the car is usually see`s good road only so road condition wouldnt matter.

JDM 3383-Hows things boy, a friend of mine has BC on his VZR and he is well impressed with them aswell but that is a VZR. Can you put the car good and low ya?

Well my car is certainly low if you want to look at my pictures. And I dont even think its as low as it can go. The tyre is just slightly under the front arche. I tip speed bumps sometimes going over very slow so cant go lower. On rough back roads they aint comfortable but so are every lowered car. But I find they have a great rebound and car never bottoms out if I hit a bump on the road and my friend has cusco's on his and his does on rough roads.

Jesus i dunno what to do. I was going to buy a set of Teins off Icetronix but there is`nt many fellas recommending them, there charging 950 for superstreet`s and i can get BC`s in cork for 700. Are yours the BC BR type?

Yea deciding on any modification is aways hard. yea mine are bc br type with 30 click damping

jesus that was cheap! wud of been saturday evenin! ya bought his old car! have a good few plans for it

I really wouldn't pay that for Tein SS's, You will be dissapointed and want to buy again in the future (thats what i did) , MiesterR ZetaS are better than superstreets IMO and VERY fairly priced for how good they are, Plus they are dual perch like the BC's
Personally i would recommend them!

Cant really give an opinion on BC as ive never been in a car with them,

I have some apexi N1's for sale atm if your interested, they are in great condition but are a fairly harsh ride, but if the roads you drive on often are smooth then that wouldn't be an issue and they handle really well, Got aftermarket springs and Pillowball mounts all round :)
