Compression ratio on a B16

Hey guys,

I have a question about the compression ratio on a B16A2 when swaping the OEM head gasket (1,2mm) to an aftermarket Buddy Club one (0,4mm). Would the height change affect the timing and ignition that much that it needs to be changed/adjusted? Browsing around showed me that the ratio diffrence would be +0.4/5. Also, the biggest concern is the piston to valve clearance ...

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
J.

Why do you want to change the head gasket ? Whats wrong with Honda OEM ?

Thanks for the replys.
The head gasket leaks and needs to be replaced. Why not OEM? Just got it cheaper compared to the original one.

1,2mm was a random guess. As a single layer gasket was 0,4, so thought OEM 3-layer one should be 3 times as thick. Google didnt help much, so sorry for the lack of knowledge

OEM headgasket is around 0.7mm, so a drop in thickness of 0.3mm will have very small impact on cam timing.

The rule for B-series is:
For every 0.012'' of material removal, cam timing gets retarded by 1 crank degree (half degree measured at the cams)
