considering going from Turbo back to NA, opinions please :)

can someone tell me can i not just then use the ITR ecu if i go 1.8? a certain year has an immobiliser, which year is that?

I believe starting in 2000 they had an immobilizer...and if you're going a simple 1.8L..then it's perfect.

wow your pretty out of line:

now blinx it all depends on what you want to do with your car, you should know this. if you weren't going to race it in the first place i wouldn't have put a turbo in it. COME ON! BE A MAN! LEARN HOW TO DRIVE!

this has nothing to do with ability, i am more than capable, and i think your seriously underestimating my car, read on:

if you think about it 333whp is really no all that much. i damn near had that much in my old 350z. it had little modifications with some light tuning. its not that much trust me :D

i have a power to weight ratio of 6.9, allow me to put that in perspective for you, your 3400lb 350z would need 500whp to achieve that power to weight ratio. so trust me, it is THAT MUCH and you have no idea. and i doubt your 350z had anywhere near 333whp unless you had FI of some sorts. if your referring to BHP then my car has 380 which is a power to weight ratio of 6.0, your 350z now would need 570bhp to match that... see where im going with this? my car is a lot more balls to the wall than you think it is, dont forget stiff clutch, stiff suspension, no ac/ps, no power windows, 3" exhuast, no interior, etc... its far far far away from an every day car like a 350z with power steering/ac/leather/etc... you simply cant compare the two.

in closing, i once read something that seems to hold true i was something like this:
Turbo Honda's are a lot of work and up keep, they are not for pussies nor the feint of heart

sorry if i was rude but you kinda upset me :( itb's are out of the question, i want it as quiet as possible, im getting old and im turning into a pussy, i just dont want any more headaches.

i wouldn't know, i wont dare drive in the rain, the cars on slicks too! i drove in the rain a few times NA after 35mph the cars starts to rotate :nerv:

but if you insist on going NA, at least for the love of all that is holy invest in some ITB's.

Maybe if blinx was looking for a full out all motor build...but it makes no sense to make this recommendation.

It's like bringing a chainsaw to cut a birthday cake.... unless you know exactly what you're doing, you're likely going to make a huge mess and lose a few friends doing it...

I reckon its a good idea's especially if you drive it frig all! You could use a JDM ITR ECU as they dont have immboliser's...

Wise choice Blinx! A good friend of mine has an EJ6 with a b16a turbo, it gave out 500+hp on 1,8bar. The result is that the car can`t stop spinning all he way trough 3rd to 4th.... Nad it`s his daily drive.... shame!!! He doesn`t street race nor goes on tracks-just had money for waisting. I think u made a brave and sincere decision. My opinion is u wont miss it all that much.

thank you.

Bucci-i...not sure what you are getting at, as I said 'at night or early sunday morning'...I never contested the rest of the worlds spirited night driving, the midnight club doesnt sound too good if people die eh. Sign the disclaimer & save it for the track :D

go for it. sell the turbo parts and save the money. Use the car for daily use. U cud pic up a bike.

Blinx - strange question but if you where to sell your exsiting setup complete what would you want for it! could be quite temped with a 380hp UK turbo'd EK9!

Yes blinx, do it! But I dont think you'll be happy with the torque of a 1.6L. Better stroke it. :nice:

I know how you feel driving a track oriented car on the road... VERY damn annoying. Thats why I'm also swapping out parts going back to street/sometimes track setup.
