cut valve cover?

ok, saw some people had cut valve covers....just wondering why they need to cut a part of a valve cover to show those cam gears....is there any reason on doing this? to easily check the timing belt maybe? or just to show those new cam gears?

so u can only adjust it, when u have an aftermarket cam gears? or works on the stock cam gears aswell?

Aftermarket cam gears. As you can see the adjustable bolts.

Most people just do it so you can see the gears to be honest. It looks good when you use them cool purple ones, as they look sweet when they spin.
