Alright Lads,

As most of you know I have a VSM EK9 which hides away in my garage and I only use for shows, meets etc as I just don't have the time.

I had the car insured with Sky, However I have now canceled it as I use the car as little as once a month.

I want to use a company where I can quickly make a call or email and get my car insured just for the day, I tried the usual company after a quick google search but they don't recognise an EK9, as you can understand I don't want the car insured as a EK4 etc.

Where can I insure a Performance/Hot Hatch/Import for a single day at a good price??

If anyone has experience of this id be grateful?

Paul

P.S I will be able to with draw my car from piston heads if I can sort this out, £700.00 to drive my car a few times in a year is too much.

LET ME OUT!!!!

I used tempcover.com

It didn't recognise my reg plate but I could select the car from the drop down menus.

I think it was about £20-25 for the day

this seems very good value :) .. also nice little picture curryzz :)

Insurance laws have changed recently. A taxed car must be insured at all times and if not must be declared SORN

You will not be able to renew the tax without an insurance policy. Sorry to bring the bad news

No, But it would be difficult to be caught if it was kept garaged. The main problem arises when renewing the tax.

The week your Tax expires, get temp cover for the whole week and get the road tax online :D

Or just get normal cover :))

i use daily insurance and mine was out of tax, insured it for the day printed my stuff of and i got the tax :D

I cancelled my insurance during the winter and kept my 9 locked up during the bad weather. Within a month I had a letter from the dvla explaining how it was an offence to keep the car uninsured whilst still taxed, i was then prompted to make the car sorn to avoid a £1000 fine.

Of coarse its not an offence to keep it uninsured whilst on private property or locked away.
