Dan34's Silver DC5...

Right little update, the seats and harnesses are in!

ignore the fact the seatbelts are cable tied up, going to be removing them soon haha.

oh and the engine mounts are in too, i love them!

New wheels are on the cards and I have the ktuned billet shifter arm on the way to sort out the play in the gear linkage.

Engine mounts are class some new shiny bolts off boltsbolts would really brighten the bay up

Seats look really nice! Do you find them tight?

Thanks! Nah they're not too bad, they're the type L versions which are a bit wider and are meant for taller people! I am a skinny bastard as well haha.

Cheers! Yeah might look into some soon, need to get a nicer fuel rail next I reckon!

So I decided to bid on some 9J ET38 Cr Kai's on yahoo japan auctions! And won them! Here's how they looked before shipping in Japan..

They arrived from japan but the couriers decided to throw them around a bit...

The lips took a beating! and annoyingly one of them was bent...

Luckily my mate knew someone who could straighten it and refurb them while they were at it so they matched my other wheels!

Before alignment another pair of CR Kai's came up on eBay at a bargain price! only 5mm lower offset than my current rears but every little helps...

They are matte gunmetal rather than gloss like the fronts so i'm running a matte/gloss stagger at the moment... haha!

Then came onto fitting the wheels and aligning the car! I knew I was going to have troubles getting the toe within specs with the camber I wanted to run up front so bought some shortened steering arms..

Then it came on to aligning the car!

While I was getting it aligned my mate turned up with his full pro camera gear! As you can tell I wasn't expecting it and the car was filthy! Photos turned out pretty cool though!

The alignment specs are currently -2.6 degree camber on the front and -1.5 on the rear with 1mm toe in on the front and 0 on the rear.

Got round to cleaning the car yesterday so here are a few clean pics of the car at the moment!

Thanks for looking!

Good work looks great now! The steering arms can be a nightmare when lowering these cars with added negative camber.. good to see you sorted it properly

Thanks! Yeah when we tried to get the toe into alignement on the OEM arms I still had over 50mm of toe... so its safe to say the arms were needed haha

Realised I meant to say I put toe out on the front not toe in.... Lol

Cheers!

Haha thanks man! Appreciate those comments! Enkies were a great wheel but the Works came up at a great price and are more suitable wheels for the track so they've won for now haha!

Yeah photo's are mostly my own :)

Yooooooo! Yeah knockhill will happen one day fo sho! Gonna have to make a weekend out of it or something as its so far away!

Few random photos of parts etc on the car:

Rocker cover and j's strut brace ends powdercoat in anthracite...

Grooved MTEC discs...

Spoon 5.1 final drive... (One of my favourite mods bar the remap)

Forgot to mention the car has full vibratechnics engine mounts...

ARC intake being cleaned...

Cusco front and rear ARB's

Can't wait for the trackday at anglesey next week now, have 8 cars on track in our friend group which should make it a good laugh!

I'll probably be uploading random pics on my instagram next week if any of you are on there, search for @Dan34

Lovely car Dan my brother powder coated your parts, I was just speaking the other day about when you went to croft.

So few things have changed again on the car! A pair of brand new 9J CR Kai's came up on eBay in the same fitment as my fronts so naturally I had to buy them... They were a bargain considering they're brand new!

Being the massively impatient person I am i got straight onto ordering a pair of 245 AD08R's to match the front set...

Knowing that the 9's on the rear were going to add more grip I decided to up the rear spring rate to 14kg's on dc5rmikes advice!

Now onto the weekend and getting everything on the car! First thing was to get the tyres fitted...

Then it was a case of disamantling the rear end, mainly to clean up the rear coilovers and to also fit some new rear Hardrace camber arms to replace the old DME's...

40K+ of use on the coilover had taken its toll...

However everything on them moved freely and cleaned up great! Considering i've hardly touched these for 40k miles the following picture speaks volumes for the quality of meisterR's, a really great product i'd recommend to anyone:

While we were working on the car we also replaced a noisy CV joint and put it all back together!

Got the car cleaned yesterday and went and took some photos of the new setup...

Car hasn't been aligned yet but will be in the next week or so, but first impressions are really good. Gives me much more confidence and able to lean on the car a lot more, just overall feels more stable!

Thats about it for now! No doubt have more updates soon!

Lol, how much CR Kai's do you have now?
You must really like them :)) They're great wheels btw, shame I couldn't use mine anymore.
