Ok time for a moan.

Did an insurance quote for my partner approx 2 weeks ago.

£458

About a week ago same insurer

£485

Today when I finally have the funds the cost is now

£506

Went through to accept "have you been on a drivers awareness course"? "Yes over 3 years ago"

£557

Said we'll try elsewhere, went back 1hr later

£563 (£6 charge for credit card)

Hung up. To say I am less than impressed is a huuuuugeee understatement I am absolutely fuming!

Yet again another example of being absued by insurance companies as they are let to run riot and write there own rule book.

They have us over a barrel it is not fair!

That's ****.. Who did you get a quote from if you don't mind me asking. Did they not offer you like a reference number for your quote so when you go back then it's the same price?

I think it's something to do with the timing you buy your policy. The earlier you buy it the cheaper. But it's still **** though

See when you're having a look, I've found Mondays cost me £70 more to start insurance on than a Wednesday or Friday

Insurance is an absolute joke in this country, seriously need to get a grip likes :/

One think people don't understand is you are not required by law to tell if you have been on a speed awareness course non the less thieving bastards I say

Heard premiums for female drivers are going to rise? dont know when they will be affected but read it on BBC.

christ you tried Sky? I get FC for £310 per year.

Currently with Adrian flux, Sky last year and few before that they where not competitive at all.

Admiral. trouble is they are the cheapest but I feel out of principle I'd rather get a lesser policy to avoid them even if it means things like restricted mileage etc etc.

That's interesting... May try some quote during the week. I just fear I leave it any longer its gona get worse.

By law you don't, however if the insurer asks the question you must answer or your insurance will be invalid. Got you over a barrel.

21st of Dec... Nothing stopping that happening sooner.

I wonder with all the extra money they are going to make increasing the premiums for all female drivers wether our male policies will be lowered inline....

Cough cough yeah right

I actually feel like getting rid of all my vehicles and getting something really economic and low cost to insure.

I am sick of being penalised and raped of my finances.

There's no logic to this!

No problem with our scheme :)

Lol I'm looking forward to my renewal with this new law coming in. I pay enough anyway because they don't like my address. Pretty sure their prices depend on how mean they feeling that day

I work for an insurance company, and i agree with you fees, quotes and general rules are all bullshit, how the companies get away with it and still are regulated through the FSA bewilders me. I honestly hate ripping people off everyday but i have to do it as it's my job and it's the companies rules so i have to stick to them. Earlier on for example, chap called to change his address 2 minutes up the road, £46 or so additional premium plus £25 admin fee, takes the piss in my opinion.

With our scheme, if someone moved to an area where statistically it is no worse than the previous area, we don't make a charge nor do we impose an admin fee.

I am aware that some organisations charge an admin fee just for the paperwork even if there is no change in the actual premium.

I'd be happy with that quote either way lol, I'm paying 200 pm for my trade insurance, my renewal this year on my dc5 they wanted 350 per month lol, having 3 points kills me

On the grounds of principle

We decided to go TPFT (instead of FC) and not give Admiral any financial support as we don't believe there ethics are justified, responsible or fair.

Adrain Flux did us a very good deal TPFT with protected NCB for £485.

Least you got it sorted in the end man.

Adrian Flux did me a cracking deal last week too :)
