Folowing on from the http://www.ek9.org/forum/general-chat/16004-what-petrol-do-you-use-your-ek9.html thread -

I was wondering if any members in the low RON countries like that states have thought about using E85 in their EKs?

Domestic availability in the UK is currently limited, reports like the 'Gallagher Review' say there's plenty of potential for biofuels if the industry is developed responsibly (to get the most out of the fuel's environmental credentials). I'd definitely look into it if i could get the stuff from my local garage.

Team Zen have a good summary of it Bioethanol E85 | Team ZEN. The environmental argument is a little simplified but essentially true.

DISCUSS: :D

i am currently mixing E85 with 98 octane

E85 is 104 octane iirc

so i throw 5 euro E85 in along with 45 euro super 98 to up the octane to roughly 99 - 100 octane

although it does leave bad brown deposits on the exhaust side over time iirc

cool!:clap::clap: Have you noticed any difference in performance / engine behaviour? Fuel system seems happy to handle the ethanol?
