Ecu?? Jap chip??

Hey there, I was at a local take away and some dude came up to and says, is that your civic? And I said yes. Then he goes on and ask about what engine and mods iv done etc etc.

And then he says he too drive an EJ9. And said that his car is running at 135bhp, mapped with a japanese chip??

So does anyone know what chip/ecu he's running on??
Or is this not quite possible?
 
A chip could mean piggy back ecu like Greddy Emanage, HKS FCon and all that... or even the simpler Apexi computer..forgot wot it's called
 
More than likely what tama said. A Pre-programmed chip that's he's bought off eBay or somewhere which stated that it will give the car 135bhp.
 
Must have a D16 head on it, Mini-me swap for that BHP. I have seen some people get around the 110bhp mark with a D16 Inlet manifold swap, exhaust, decat and a good induction setup. I ran mine with a full stainless exhaust and mani, decat, ITR intake and D16 IM and it made a noticable difference.
 
jsut keep it standard right not timmy and once u have saved get buying a b series ;) far more fun and far safer than an ebay chip lol the guy must have been in a day dream haha

But Iv got my cousins b16a2 waiting for me, I just need to source all the other crap!
 
135bhp D14 with an eBay chip? He must have one of those electric superchargers too!
