Im buying a new intake to replace my oem one for my EK9.

I know most people buy the skunk2, but a good friend of mine told me he preferred the edelbrock victor-X. He had a 370whp turbo teg though, and upon looking up the edelbrock, it does state that it works best from 7000-10000 rpm and ideal for turbo cars.

Does anyone have it or a non-turbo car? Or anyone have any experience with it?

Thanks. :nice:

that manifold should only be used on turbo cars making over 350whp. anything less should use performer X or skunk2pro. i am very happy with my skunk2pro. I know Teamdiesel used botht the Performer X and the Skunk2 Pro on his 2.0 build and said he liked the skunk2 pro better.

whats the reason your upgrading anyway? you have other mods?

Waste of money if you don't have a built motor, esp. if it's not turbo'd...
Skunk2 1st gen are copies of the Type R manifold. It all depends really on what your plans are, motor wise...

Is it really a waste of money? I was thinking of getting the AEBS IM for my ITR
Current Mods are only Intake and Exhaust.

if you don't have a fully built motor, don't waste your money.
and that's not true that is for turbo engine only.

don't really matter if it'll be N/A or BOOST. just plain wrong to waste money on something that won't really do much and looks ugly too...

you will loose nearly all your midrange power with that intake manifold, even turbo cars lose power with that manifold around the 300WHP level skunk2pro makes 10-15whp more than victor X.

Do you think I will lose power with the skunk2 at all?

can we widen the topic slightly..? I was wondering when I get the b18 I want in weather to go for the m+m intake mani thats on vtecdirect. does anyone have any experience with these?

thread moved to the correct forum :)

it appears to use vband for the TB, anyhow that is WAY too expensive, i would much rather get in contact with ENDYN and have them build you a custom unit to your spec which would cost about $1000 usd.

I second this notion.

Unless your car is built to the teeth with higher compression and bigger cams along with a ported head, plus bigger displacement - you won't see the gains that one would expect from an intake manifold that is already quite good from the factory.

Start somewhere else.
