EJ9 Civic

Nice work done car is looking turbo-minty fresh ;) fair play! All you need to do now is drop in a b16b :D

Cool but you should paint the plate base and the side markers! It will be a lot better

Cheers for the comments guys :)

@Smoke-Me: It's my 2nd car. First was another EJ9 but too much rust to work with. This is the first project so to speak. The back box was only €120 delivered to the door from the States :)

@RoEK9: Ha, I wish I was at that stage man! Definitely in the pipeline down the line but will be a couple of years anyways. Want to do that myself and have a lot to learn before I took it on. Not to mention the insurance :( All in time I hope

@Vesar: I'm kinda thinking of leaving some of the bits like the plate base unpainted and getting carbon goodies then :) Maybe change wheel colour etc. Pretty much every other Civic about is fully colour coded so I kinda want to take a slightly different approach!

what's the noise like on it? am in need of something abit quieter for mine :0

Pretty much stock levels in general man:nice:Like when I'm driving around I only hear a faint dull sound which is exactly what I was after. Love it in underground carparks etc. as that's about the only time you really hear it. It's a nice deep rumble and to give you an idea, even the parents approve:))Haven't heard it from the outside yet but will let you know how it is for the outside world when I get the chance

btw, I was born in Sheffield:lol: Only lived there 4 months though :p

Loving the car and sound mate :))

Looking for something like that for my EJ at the moment. Did you buy the backbox from a website/dealer or was it a private seller?

how long did the exhaust take ti arrive i want one lol and where did you get it from?

I love ur alloys.
Is white number plate at the back legal??? pass MOT?

Cheers man. Kinda thinking of getting them resprayed down the line but I'll see where the next few mods leave me feeling about them. Ya the plate is 100% legal...because I live in Ireland :p

@Civic360: Took about a week and a half to arrive from ordering. Ordered it on a Saturday evening and had it the Wednesday a week and a half later. I've a link just above to the guy I bought it from:D

Thanks to everyone for the sound comments. Hopefully there will be a lot more to come yet!

thanks for the info man, and your car is looking pretty sweet, I am rocking an ssb number myself ej9

^^ Thanks man :) Mines not SSB though, everyone makes the same mistake! It's Illusion Blue. Looks blue in the daylight and then at night it has a kinda purple effect. I love it! Hopefully once it gets some parts sprayed up it'll look a lot better. All in time I suppose. Checked out yours there dude and it's looking well! Love mid spoilers. Might pick one up myself down the line :) Are they Evo 3 Recaros you've got?

evo 4 but almost, might be getting some red ones. as well as pretty much a whole ek9 interior for next week. already got some oem ek9 bumpers at home i want to spray up, are yours oem the look flush.

Ah close enough :p Would love a set of DC2 Recaros myself but will be a good while before I've that sort of money :( Mine's facelift man so they're flush to start with! You getting the dash and all?

Haven't updated this in a while now but since my last post I've picked up a D16Y8 intake manifold which is now sitting at home waiting for the chance to go on. Needs a bit more of a clean before I fit it but when I get a gap from work I'll get cracking.

I got a couple of days off work so I said I'd get a few bits done. Gave it a long overdue oil change and new Honda oil filter. Next up I decided to finally give splitting the headlights a go. Fair balls of a job just using a hairdryer to split them but no way was I being let use the oven :p Gave them a few coats of Rover Steel Grey and then a bit of lacquer to shine them up a bit. Happy with the result anyways

Split and painted

And back on the car (ignore the filth...)

Also got a proper sized plug for the wiper so whipped that off for a while to see how it was

Should have some decent hours in work next week so fingers crossed I'll start to get through some of my plans then :)

First off, got rid of the shocking bad Runway Enduro tyres that came on my rims as they were pretty much dangerous in the wet. Anyways, got 4 new Kumho Ecsta KU31s from Camskill and got them fitted. Went for 45 profiles this time as opposed to 55 as the side wall was way too big before. With my current spring setup there is just way too much arch gap now though...lower it is so ;) Pulled off the tacky centre caps too and think they look much better now

Having originally picked up a D16Y8 IM I swapped it with the guy I bought it from again for a D16ZC IM as he needed an IACV and I didn't. As a result, this will be a cleaner looking install and is pretty much an identical manifold with just the odd vacuum line moved and that.

No IACV port

Decided to refurb the fuel rail, FPR and fuel return line bracket while I had the IM dismantled.

Fuel rail before

Sanded and cleaned

Primed and painted

After paint in VSM

Mocked together, much cleaner

Manifold was wire then brushed to clean up the finish and this is it mocked up with the painted fuel rail etc. Injectors still need a clean up but I'll do that just before fitting as I'm going to use the ones currently in the car

Hoping to get it fitted now this coming week IF the weather holds, and that's a big if...so fingers crossed.
