i might not have a ek9 but ma 1.4 is soon to have a turbo conversion on it :nice shud i up rate the gear box and clutch ???

Depends on the power you are going to run and various other things...

I would say a stage 1 or 2 clutch would be pretty essential though, dont forget the brakes too ;).

only guna run it bowt 2 or 3 psi on a mid range turbo just want it for torque more than any thing else thanks for the help tho.

Seen a few turbo conversions on the d14 and they only made 130bhp so would be easier just dropping a esi engine in there.

I turbo'ed on a few weeks back and the clutch started to slip after a day or soo. I ran ultimate boost with waste gate welded shut hahahah ( i was trying to blow the engine though) but it seemed fine ran it for a few weeks and nothing happened.

Was there a reason you wanted to blow the engine or just for shits n giggles? :D

if you do it right _nice ecu tuning_ adequate injectors etc, the engine can easily handle 200bhp without swapping stock internals. It bears boost better than d16s due to lighter internals and ideal r/s ratio (close to b16b)

check out Sebastix's project. Actually it is a d14vtec with ITBs and Turbo. The itbs give the engine great air efficiency resulting in making this power with minimum boost (6 psi)! This car has nothing to envy comparing to a b16b, and in case it brakes you buy another engine with 250pounds. Beat that! hehe

Alryt mate i would uprate the clutch to a stage 1 or 2 atleast. All depends on what power you want?
