Had an outing in the new car at the weekend, did my first event in it 2 weeks ago at Caerwent at the Patriot stages, seeded at 98 and was running 28th overall taking it very easy in the rain as it was the cars first stage rally, but car ran faultlessly up untill the last stage when the clutch plate exploded and we ground to a hault.....,doh!
Retirement number 1 grrr
So threw another clutch in and put in a late entry for the Prima motorsport stages on Sunday 9th of October.
Seeded car 53 out of 62 as i was a late entry and havent had any results to get me seeded higher, but at least with dad being seeded at car 9 meant we could watch each other on stage lol.
Started well, but had a long brake pedal after the first stage, quick bleed of the brakes made it alittle better, but not alot, and as the day went on the pedal was getting longer and the fluid level was dropping, so the master cylinder is dead, so as we wanted to finish, we backed off in the afternoon taking it easy on the brakes.
Only other problem was traffic, catching slower cars and having to wait to a wide enough part of the stage to pass was very fustrating, we caught 5 cars on 1 stage!!
But anyway we managed to finish, and a damm good result considering too, 11th overall and won the 1600 class by just under 2 minutes!
So came away with a nice big trophy, and also alittle chuckle as everyone loaded their cars onto their trailors to take them home, and we drove the civic home as i couldnt afford to hire a trailor
but at least being a basically standard b16 it was good on fuel on the way there and back lol!!
Dad had a good day also, finishing 7th overall and 2nd in the 2 litre class, which was a good result for running a standard engine for this one, he was 100bhp down!!!!
Anyway, very short video that my sister took of me, which i think sounds lovely, not heard it from outside till now.
