Hello EK9.org people.

I just got this EK2 from my friend for about 3 weeks now. Removed the engine from my old EK3 and placed it here. I am currently using the original ITR 4.4 LSD transmission, axles and the shifter linkage. The engine originally came from a jdm ITR and I rebuilt it with new gaskets etc plus installed 4AGZE pistons, IB Spec Connecting rods, ARP bolts and studs, and Blox Block Guard. I also used 1000cc Rochester injectors for fuel. Here are some pics of the engine build: (posted before on my previous EK thread)

the engine installed on the car, now waiting for its last 500km of the 1000 for break-in. car is wire-tucked and brake-lined tucked (though not as hardcore as most of the ones I see on the net). sorry for a very untidy engine bay. you may have noticed the Sanden compressor. It's much cooler than the Denso one, and is very welcome it a hot and humid place like the Philippines. BTW, the condenser is a full sized one from my front cut DC2 along with the hydrovac and the prop valve.

and here are some pics of the car, all in its chinless glory. I still need need a couple of things to be done, like painting it in a nicer color:nerv: It's running on a rough map by me on Crome.

Currently, the car has a facelift front end, CTR side skirts wing and rear skirt, Stage21 CF hood, Daiyama coil-overs, Hardrace front camber kit and Blox rear camber kit, solid engine supports, Spoon lower tie-bar, Defi Link Boost, Oil Press and Oil Temp Gauge, ITR Gauge cluster, a Nardi steering wheel plus CTR brakes and wheels on Advan AD07 tires among others. I'll keep this updated as much as I can. Thanks for viewing. Hopefully I can turn this POS ride into something else very soon.

someone's used 17x7.5 +48 Rays Gram Lights 57S. hopefully by next week I'll have the car returned to it's 'pre-facelift' look before painting

(08-29-2010)

Finished the pre-facelift/'98 look for my car. The bumper is already painted champ white, but the fenders are something like bluish white with a black molding. I'll be dropping the car off to the paintshop tomorrow for a full respray.

The wheels surprisingly don't look that big when installed. Here are more pics with the newly installed EK9 red interior things (minus the red recaros):

and my favorite, the newly fab backdoor intercooler

car went into the paintshop about 8 days ago. everything needed to be taken apart is already off the car. sanding has started yesterday. the color I was going for was something like this:

mustang-grey-1230332601325.jpg

and the wheels are also being painted by a locally known wheel refurbish person to a similar Matte Silver finish from Volk (something like this):

took a few new pics of the car a while ago.

painting is finished in the engine bay as well as some other small parts of the car. the whole car is in primer now.

sorry the car is dirty and all:

slowly, my car is getting there. my friend is already done with the piping and manifold (sans polishing). now all that's missing are the oil lines and my twin-plate clutch, which should be arriving some time today. here are some updated pictures:

thanks! but I must be honest, this car has alot of minor body problems (misaligned bumper and fender, small dings, ldents, scratches) but thankfully not much rust. :)

powergoal for this is still 420-450whp on 95 (or so the gas station says) octane that will be daily driven. maybe a bit higher depending on what my wallet dictates regarding the clutch lol

dont we all have minor bodywork problems mate, its a nightmare! Mines is a bit worse than it used to be tho!lol

wow thats a big power figure, good luck dude! I will look forward to more updates!:nice::drive:

bought some EK9 carpet and sidings from my friend last week and got around to install them the other day. I am currently having difficulties deciding what color to paint my car.

What color do you think will suit it best? I am currently deciding between Champ White or Gun Metal/Dark Metallic Gray. Thanks

nice wheels, a bit big but nice! If you are going to paint the car go with gun metal/dark metallic grey, its a lovely colour!! :) good luck!

yes I'd love to have that color too. I'd probably go with that, and then paint my wheels matte silver (same as those on Volk wheels). I want the car to be quite decent looking now. Or maybe I'm just making up an excuse since its very expensive to have a track-ready looking car lol

gonna prob need some 17s anyways for traction:naughty:

hopefully I'll be producing that much power easily lol I originally wanted 16s TE37s but the price on these GramLights is too good to pass up. They were even cheaper that used Rota 17s.

Great build although your the 1st person ive ever seen go backwards facelift to pre facelift !

Nice build man, good choice of colour, it should look awesome when its done!!

thanks! yeah I'm the first one I know too. I just like the old silhouette alot better, especially the bumper. I also like the bigger opening up front, among other small things. Alot of my friends told me I'm making a big mistake, but it really is the look I'm after.

yeah hopefully it will look and perform as well. thanks!

Serious build man !! Will be awesome when it's finished !!

yeah I'm really hoping it will come out as I am picturing it. thanks!

Brilliant so far. Will be watching this build develop as I want my EK9 to be turbo eventually.
