I brought my honda civic EK4 VTI-S in 2008 with 69,000m, FSHH, 2 Owners, A Standard example in i'd say avarage condition 6/10 Mechanically the car was sound a very quiet runner and clean under the bonnet, the bodywork let the car down a tad a few little dents and scratches nothing to bad.

Anyway i picked the car up for £3100 the price was set in stone the seller would not budge atall.

here it is standard

The first thing was to remove that horrible grill, replaced for that Aggressive JDM look

I brought a full set of toyos, the budgets that were on it were shocking :nono: and had to go

Next thing was to give it a full service, the serivice parts were replaced with genuine honda parts, motul 300v oil, JDM oil cap, Mugen 1.3bar radiator cap, NGK blue HT Leads and NGK Iridium spark plugs, dropped the gearbox oil out and replaced with honda MTF.

Now came the brakes, they wernt great when i brought the car so i decided to change the discs and pads - i brought EBC drilled and groved discs and greenstuff pads. Good god that was a bad idear. the setup was shocking it was unsafe on a public road let alone a race track... there was just no bite and they faded almost instantly.

I kept using them for a few months just driving carefully, by this time the discs were very badly warped and had to go. i replaced this time with standard motor factor pads and dics as i was on a tight budget. belive it or not they were about £30 for the discs and pads are were much better...

lesson learnt :secret:

Suspension was next on the list, i started of with buying some tein superstreet springs from accessory zone, Got them fitted and the car came back sitting like this -

The hight was better but it didnt go down alot, was slightly dissapointed with that but sh*t happens. the ride quality was great it was firm but not to hard, reduced some of that body roll and handled better. So a result really.

About 6 months down the line i was ready for some coilovers, i looked over many reviews for a good set, BC kept popping up again and again with nothing but good comments. I decied to buy myself a set, again from accessory zone.

About a week later they turnt up, i was excited to get out there and fit them strait away. it took me nearly all day to fit and adjust everything to how i wanted it.

It now sits like this -

Much better, i was very happy with the BC coilovers there spot on. it now sticks to the road like glue, very minimal body roll, the ride quality is perfect for the road 10/10 for the bc coilovers :)

Added : also painted the rocker cover around this sort of time. red :)

Now for the Recaro's :D i managed to source myself a set of EVO 8 Recaro bucket seats. obviously it was not going to be a strait fit but it really was quite simple.

just placed in there at the moment seeing what room i had to play about with, i had 2 options one was to buy rails DC2/EK9 rails and bolt them strait in, the other was to save alot of money and come up and idear of my own.

What i done was i cut the 4 brackets of the old VTI seats and then bolted them to the rails of the EVO8 seat, lined them back up inside the car, one side bolted strait in, the other side was slighly out

(ill get some pictures of the plates welded in so you can see)

What i done was removed the VTI brackets back of the evo rails, took some measurements, got my old man to make me up some metal plates, what we did was weld our new plate to the underside of the bracket so basicly all it dose is move the hole over to the right.

Bolted strait in no room or hight issues atall was well chuffed.

front on the angle

now i had harness holes in my recaros :p you know what happend next....
i ended up spending about £500 on 2 sabelt 4 point 3inch harnesses and stripping the back of the car out.

could not help myself ;)

so its come from standard VTI interior

Next came a cat back exhaust system, i brought a SRS G50 from a guy on the forums, When it arrived i looked at the size of the pipework and it was huge compared to the standard width of the exhaust, i really didnt expect it to fit. when i got it fitted i was very happy with the noise is produced, it sounds great its pretty loud at 100db but i love it :)

Then came this... :(

alot of smoke and a bad missfire, the car was burning alot of oil and smoking like a steam train, thats where i drew the line i took the car off the road and put it back into my garage.

I've sourced a few more bits now -

98 spec 4-1 JDM manifold 2.5"
Ajustable De-cat 2.5"

Ill post all the pictures up over the next few days.
