>>ek9 daily road/track build up from the start<<

Cheers for the comments lads

Nice to see that cage rocking an eknine sticker :). Car looks amazing mate!

Thanks mate, really like your eknine stickers it was a good idea:clap:

Looking fantastic as usual!

Just needs a nice set of 3" harnesses once the passenger seat is in :nice:

Cheers steve

Yes potter! Them wheels look brilliant on it! Very good choice! I think i might run these on the Eg.

Thanks Jack, they would suit your eg in anthracite well. I have the satin black rims for the track so I thought I would go for the white 16s just for a change and I think they work well when the car is nice and low:D

Quick Update

Well the car developed a 3rd gear syncro problem at high revs out of the blue so obviously the syncro is simply past its wear limit.

I decided to do the job right and ordered a full rebuild kit from Syncrotech transmissions including; a full set of carbon coated syncros and all of the bearings, seals and 3rd/4th syncro Hub/sleeve. I also bought a new clutch master, slave cylinder and LSD bearings all OEM Honda from Bernard (Autodynamics)

I also have wanted to do this mod for ages so ordered 3rd,4th and 5th Mfactory close ratio gears (cheers Mfactory)

I plan to rebuild the box in the next few weeks, anyway here are pics of the parts I have gathered up:

I would recommend Syncrotech, Mfactory and Autodynamics to anyone as their service is excellent and quality of the gears/syncros is amazin :nice:

£££'S nice bit of kit there! It will be better than ever when you've them all fitted!

Was talking about this today Potter, and was going to give you a text. Didnt take long for all the bits to come. Busting to get it sorted now?

Exactly £££'s! Gearboxes are expensive but its cheaper that trying to get loads of power out of a B-series

Yea Jack can't wait ot get it rebuilt, didn't take long at all but the import taxes are a killer

Nice bit of kit there mate

Cheers Dan

Excellent update, ur '9 going to be pretty mega! What ratio s did you pick?

I went for

3rd: 1.625
4th: 1.296
5th: 1.000

Should be nice with the 4.78 fd and the car will be on the limiter in 5th at 123mph :naughty:

I have a few more updates to come very soon

As far as I am aware, Syncrotech supply Mfactory with the syncros but I might be wrong. Syncrotech also offered the full kit with all of the bearings and seals that I needed for a good price, the bearings are all genuine and expensive to buy seperate esp in the UK

Exactly bud, the last thing I want to do is mix anything up so I will be taking my time when building the box

Yes no problem if you want to buy the OEM 4th and 5th then they are yours :nice:

This is nice nice nice!

You have somebody to work on the box for you, or are you going to tackle it yourself?

lovely potter will make a huge difference on the track with the shorter gear wish i could do it but need the longer ratios for daily driving

Cheers for the comments

I am going to build the box myself, I have removed gearboxes before on my own cars but I have never split and rebuilt one, there is only one way to learn and I have had some advice from StevenEK9 and I have a few quides and the factory service manual to hopefully keep me right

The airbox does sound good, my mates always say it sounds unreal when we are side by side on the road on vtec :nice:

Yea grimo, since I still have the standard b16b the shorter ratios will be the best mod for the car and I only work 10mins from my house so the daily driving isn't a problem

My MUGEN baffled sump finally arrived after a very long wait but I'm very happy with the quality and design and it comes with a new Honda rubber gasket. Cheers Togue

Gona install Spoon heat barrier on the bottom of this sump aswell

so the sump finally arrived.

looks like nice set-up!

just had look through your build thread again to see if you had any pics of the odyssey battery fitted but you aint got any! doh.

yes finally! The baffle plate actually has turned down walls about 10mm deep that you can't really see in that pic, which should work well to keep the oil around the pickup when cornering hard

I will have to get a pic of the battery up for you to see, looks tiny in its place
