EK9 Racecar

Just checked still available mate
Its a week before japfest so hopefully you will be ready by then.

Yeah I hope so too, I've not booked any tracktime for japfest just incase I have tuning issues lol
Will see how it goes.

Just a random question
Did you have this tuned on hondata/Neptune or just a chip in a socketed obd1?

It was tuned on a chipped p30, so I guess that's a obd1?
It was a hondata chip.

Ah sounds like hondata s100 then, how much did it cost you all in with the ecu, chip etc and tuning if you don't mind me asking?

Just thinking about options

Oh no sorry, looks like I had a Neptune!
Just looked at my invoice to remember the price.
I paid £714.00 all in.

It says Neptune on the invoice, but I remember seeing a hondata box.

Ah right that's not bad the Neptune ecu on its own seems to be about the same price as hondata s300 on its own, so that's quite a good price with the map

If your on a budget just get a p28/p30 ecu for 50 odd quid, send it to htune to get socketed and chipped, cleaned, for around 80quid. I would say 150 all in.

I had it done by Romain at Eurospec,
Highly recommend him.

That is an option, but then you still have to pay £250-£300 for dyno time, and burning a chip.

I wouldn't use a basemap type chip

I'l probably search the scrap yards for a p28 and socket it myself and go for a s300 or Neptune

You will end up paying for dyno mapping regardless, it doesnt have to be a basemap you could have a livemap. If you buy everything in parts could save 300 odd quid, the outcome will pretty much be the same.

The problem with the cheap chipping option is only some one with the hardware and licence can make changes and a new chip has to be burned each time, not user friendly.

where as the s300 and Neptune Rtp (I think) can be played with by any one with the software

Thats true, i guess whatever works best for us is the option to take.

Been a busy day today, doing prep for the roll cage.

I removed the dash to sort out some rattles, and to remove the a/c pannel and SRS system.

And gave everything a good clean! There was lots of dust!

Removed carpet

It's crazy how much weight I've lost out the car, must be a few kilo's. When you hold the individual components and feel their weight it all adds up.

Tidied up all the wiring under the dash and my ecu.

Here is a pic of my ecu.

Still got a few odds and end to finish on the dash. But it's all back in now.
Few more bits of trim to remove too.

Also does anyone have a spare air-con blanking rubber for sale? :please:
