Awesome build thread mate, and an interesting read! Love the s2k cluster in there, will have to track down the guy on CL to see what he charges for a plug and play kit.

Keep up the good work! Oh, and if I were you, as you obviously like to keep the exterior looking mint, do the engine bay a favour and give that a good clean! Would finish it off nicely then IMO.
 
Well its been a while since i have updated this!

Where to begin, fitted the B18 back in december. Then got it mapped in February at Hypertech near Falkirk. Came back with 240hp, feels alot faster than that tho! Pulled away from my mates 08 WRX Sti and beat a new shape S3. But its running safe and sound, thats all that matters

Didnt last long, all went pete tong when a went to a track night at knockhill, couple of silly things like exhaust downpipe to turbo bolts falling out, luckily found someone with spare bolts. Then noticed an oil leak coming between the head and block from the power steering pump area! Gutted!

After stripping bits off to take the head off, noticed oil at timing belt side, once again between head and block. So putting this down to a failed head gasket, or not sealed properly when engine got built.

So this is how its currently sitting at the moment. Took head off couple a weeks ago, gonna get sent for testing and slight skim. New gaskets and belts this week. And today i decided to degrease the bay, gonna clean and paint engine and box too.



Cant wait to get it up a running, its been off the road for months!

Noticed that pic above looks like the bulkhead its still dirty, but took another one there just now to highlight that it is clean lol.

Yea mines running the same power and is very quick, neck and neck with a 360hp ttrs from 40 to 110 down the straight at cadwell!

Yeah slowly getting there, kinda lost interest in a bit. But need to get it up and running again and start using it.

Bigger turbo is on the plans and a remap
 
Well not having any luck with this, after getting head skimmed and all built back up it's still leaking oil from the same place. Got to be a problem with block! Waste of a new cometic low comp gasket too!

So plan is now to send my B16b block away to get full overhaul, new acl bearings, piston rings and whatever else. Take out the b18 and rebuild with the 16, possibly back to n/a. Dont know yet.
 
Still not much happening with this but hoping to get my rebuilt block back next month and then get it back on the road, it's been far too long! Had the car out a few weeks ago to get the exhaust downpipe sorted for the bigger turbo and screamer pipe plumbed back in to downpipe, but it was awesome to drive again! Did think about selling it but once you drive it agai it's a different story lol
 
class car is pure $ex man love it must be nice drivin a hatchback with 240bhp and havin the turbo noises to boot hahah
