INTRODUCTION:

Hey guys,

I joined this forum not long after getting my first car.

Originally I was after something which was turboed, for example a Nissan Silvias; s13 and 14s. But as more and more laws came in for new drivers, there was restrictions on what you can/can't drive. And just my luck, a turbo car was crossed off the list.

So I continued to search around for NA cars without having much luck of really liking anything. But I did have a friend who had been into Hondas for a long time, so I decided to look into them. I really liked the EK shape and power it was putting out (nothing mind blowing but it was decent; B16a2), and loved the EM1 coupe. Down here in Australia they are kind of hard to find, but after quite abit of searching I had found one. It had only had two owners, with log books etc, and the more recent owner was a girl. That being said there was quite a few dints and dings here and there, but hey, as long as the interior and engine was strong, I was fine with that. Cosmetics can come after..

Long story short, after quite abit of hassle I managed to get her for a decent price. I purchased her in February 2009 and in this year of owning the car, I couldn't have learned enough, and cannot stop talking so highly of Hondas now; build, quality, engine, visually, price etc.

Anyway, enough of the chit chat, on to the build!

Soon after I removed my front badge..

Purchased a Spoon Sport Duracon Shift Knob, and OEM CTR Shift Boot..

And got a Apexi Pod Filter off my cousin for the time being..

Half way through the year I got sick of it looking like a sky scraper. So I got some lowering springs..

Not so long after, I was coming back home on a wet day and some young girl in a Holden came into my lane, and knocked my front fender. I managed to move over abit so the damage wasn't as bad. As I was about to pull over she some how managed to counter steer very hard, did a U-turn, slid down a hill into a fence. Luckily no one was hurt..

The tow truck guy trying to pull my fender off my wheel so I could drive home..

And the girls car, in the fence lol. No one believed me on how she ended up there..

After getting it fixed; some random pictures with acouple mates..

DECEMBER 2009:

I managed to work quite abit on my holidays and saved up for an exhaust system. I wanted something quite, with a oval shaped muffler. I then opted for the Fujitsubo Legalis R Catback system, for a JDM DC2R. It need some modding here and there to make it fit, but it was worth it!

JANUARY 2010:

Since I only had a exposed pod filter on the stock arm, I was getting heaps of heat stroke and this was really bothering me. So soon after the exhaust I purchased a Injen CAI, and was really happy how it responded!

About the same time as the intake, I decided to bling up the under carriage alittle by adding a Beaks Tie Bar..

FEBRUARY 2010:

Okay, it's been a year since I got the car, and I'm still loving it like it was the first day! I was getting sick of the body roll due to the springs, so in came the Coillies. Abit dirty on the thread but no leaks; nothing a clean couldn't fix! Cusco Zero 2..

And off came the wing..

And some random flicks..

Stunning coupe mate, good build so far,

Nice choice in coilovers :D bet they do the job well!!!

MARCH 2010

Was running really crappy tires and ever since I got the Coilovers the rear end of the car just wanted to slide out (yes, even in the dry). So it was time for new tires.

I found a set of RE001s which I managed to get for $100 AUD which is like what? 60 GBP? Two tires about about 90% the other two are about 60-70%. Either way even on the lower condition vs my tires (which are pretty new) they're way better still.

Since putting them on I found a great difference. Now I can actually take corners without being hesitant.

I also got the guards rolled to stop the scrubbing whilst turning. Still not very happy as the plastic mudguard still rubs and is hella' annoying. I might try and find away to get the plastic lifted up so it sits right up against the inside of the guard which will give alot more space. If anyone has idea let me know?

New tires..

very nice man id go for a lip for the back to give it a slightly lower stance

Thanks guys.

Yeah I'm looking for one. But they're pretty hard to find in Australia for a reasonable price.

a set of white regas on that car would look awsome.Have you any thought on changing rims?

^ Funny you say that because I've thought of it before. Others that I've had in mind; Gram Light 57S, Buddy Club P1, BBS RS, Work TE37 etc..
But that's all a dream for now. I still have a couple more important things to do before I think about rims..

niice!

planin on gettin new wheels? or rocking the OEM look...

Tbh mate those rims are looking pretty good
I would keep those for a bit and use the money for something else :)
good build

Looking good:nice: A nice set of gold wheels would finish it off imo.
