Just bought an 1997 Ej9 civic hatchback, currently 1.4i engine but want to swap to a B16a2:D, can aniboy help me on what needs changing or parts required to get this to work, any help would be much appreciated:)

ecu
loom
gear linkage
shafts
brakes front and rear
engine
gearbox

thinks thats abiut iut mate, but if you get it all outta an ek its a straight swap, if yiou get it outta an eg you need a harness......

you need brakes change, your b16 axels fit fine
you really need:
ECU
Wire harness b16a2
shift linkage
b16 axels
b16 T bracket
ob1 to ob2 pigtail or (just change your dash harness to a 99-00 Si or ex) plug n play

The 1.4 EJ9 has a D series engine/gearbox which use equal length driveshafts/axel's so he will defiantly need some B series shafts.

This is what you need.

On OBD2a b16a2 with gear box. If you cant find an obd2a you can still do the swap but you''ll need to get either and obd2a D16y7 loom and have it converted to fit the B16a2 engine, or get a 96 to 98 EK vti engine loom but they are hard to find.
B Series drive shafts,
B series engine mounts for an EK.
B Series power steering pump.
B series alt
B series Starter.
B series gear linkage and shifter.
B series Rad as the D series has a smaller inlet and exit pipe. Can be bodged but is not smart.
P28 ecu and obd2a to obd1 conversion harness.
Or a non immobilized obd2a ecu like a jdm teg ecu or obd2a ek9 ecu.

hope this helps you out.

Any questions drop me a pm.

well thats strange, i have a b18C4 bottom end and a b16a engine which will run on a 97 EK9 engine loom and ecu :)

ok alot of the sensors from the B16a head is wrong so need changing to the OBD2a but thats not alot of hard work!

u basically need a complete front end of a ek4 96-98 0bd2a lol

I'm trying to do the same with my p reg 1.4 ek. I'm just going to pull the front of the car off and assemble it as i go, will do one big thread step by step if i can be arsed, best thing to do is get a cheap banger for £50-100 to use while the car is in bits because with this sort of stuff you ALWAYS hit snags.
