hello my b16a just cut off when i was driving it, got it towed back home and there was no spark, i had another dizzy off a b16a2 (td81u) sitting and this worked in the car but was running a bit ruff! i got a 2nd hand dizzy for a b16a again(td86u), after fitting that there was a spark but wouldnt start. i checked fuel at the top of the fuel filter and that was fine, checked the timing belt and position of the dizzy and still nothing just cranking over. we removed the spark plugs and put a little fuel in each cyclinder and replaced the spark plugs and still nothing. we connected the computer to the ecu and showed up no error! really ran out of ideas here HELP someone! iam thing its needing a brand new ignitor and coil but there is spark and i dont want to waste anymore money on parts that already work.

yes it was ok! i drove it home with the b16a2 dizzy on but it had flat spots in the revs so i got the other 1 changed over then nothing! i even tryed putting the one that was working back on and that doesnt want to work now! my dad changed the leads around to see if i put them on wrong and it back fired really loud so the spark was there but when they r all on in the correct position there is nothing, it just cranks over. i thought with us putting fuel in the cyclinders it would atleast fire but nothing :( iam thinking its defo the dizzy but dont want to waste 200 quid on a new one if thats not the problem, anyone had this problem

i have tryed new leads, i just ordered a new coil 2day so a will try tht and if it still not running i might just break the car!

just fitted a new coil pack and still nothing its just cranking over and still has a spark and i can smell fuel on the spark plugs :( really dont know what to do with it anymore, any ideas any1

My mate is having the exact same problem changed the dizzy twice fired up day later gone again apparently its the dizzy again. Try changing for a known working one also check all earths in engine bay

I have 3 dizzys here and not 1 of them will start it, just cranks ova! Iam gettin spark so I think the dizzy is ok, its got a brand new coil in it and new spark plugs! My car has a full earthing kit so I don't think it could be an earth! I will take them all off and clean them up! Don't know what 2 do with it! The cars been sitting for nearly 3 weeks

Would it not try 2 start if the timing was out just a bit? Doesn't even sound like it wants 2 start! The thing is I was driving it and when I parked it up I changed the dizzys over! So it was running and starting before I changed the dizzys! I changed it cos it was a dizzy off a b16a2 and I was putting the correct dizzy off a b16a back on with a new coil

If an engine is out of time by like 2-3 teeth then it won't start. It'll just crank over

but the car was running with the b16a2 dizzy and i drove it home and changed it over for the correct 1 and it didnt start! i will check it again!

A feel like its the dizzy because it was running but when I changed it over it didn't want to start! Weird! Any1 had any problems with the ignitor? I have tryed the new coil in 2 different dizzy, surely both them can't be gone

hello the garage done a compression test on the engine and all cylinders are low! will this be the timing that out or the head gone? the coolant looks fine with no sign of oil leaking in, the head will be getting took off next week to see what the problem could be, any1 had this problem? cheers

i had this problem, turned out to be my dizzy plugs, remove them and see if you can get them to connect better maybe

thats the car running :D finally! the timing belt slipped 3 teeth and i was lucky internally there was no damage! thanks for the help every1 ;)
