a friend is giving me a 4.5" jap slash exhaust from a type r just wondering will this fit on my 1997 ej9 by taking off old back box and simply bolting on or will i need to weld and modify it a bit only asking as hes in england just now and gna bring it up for me if i want it

probably not mate, you'll probably have to modify that..

a 4.5" jap slash exhaust doesn't really help us determine what the exhaust actually is, that's obviously the diameter of the tip, you'd need to find the diameter of the exhaust itself..

no probs i will take it anyway and let you know if it fitted or needed modifiyed any idea what kinda sound comes off those exhausts ??

again dude, i wouldn't be able to say without knowing the diameter and or make.

If you are fitting just the backbox it should be pretty quiet tbh. depending on the size of your current exhaust you may have to reduce the exhaust size.. something any exhaust shop should be able to do for you.

thought a would let you all know how this got on finaly got round to fitting it today and the flange was to big for the ej9 1 so chopped both flanges off old exhaust and back box and welded a sleave on so did need a bit of modifing but now looks amazing and has a nice wee note to it
